I hate cinnamon so am always nervous to buy stuff with secret blends of anonymous "spices" but if this does have cinnamon, it's not dominant. I think the dominant spice may be allspice or cloves? There is something a bit sweet/hot but it's not cinnamon. And overall there's a nice blend of flavours. My only gripe is that there are chunks about the size of a dice, which can be annoying depending what you're using it for.

Fewer spices, more sugar; the preservative taste is very strong. It could be better if more spices were added. Bengali chutneys and pickles have some characteristic spices added to them to make them flavorful and "Bengali" like black mustard and a mixture of five spices colloquially known as "panch phoron." I was looking forward to those but was disappointed...also, green chilies are a must for Bengali-syle pickles and chutneys, those are missing too.

This is really good chutney. Enhanced by the fact that there are no junk or GMO ingredients. I use it with curries, meat dishes, rice dishes etc. Highly recommend this.

Delicious not too hot and not too spicy. It really enhances any chicken curry dish or butter chicken dish with rice or noodles.

I have been searching for a chunky lime pickle condiment like they have in the Indian cuisine restaurants. This isn’t it, but there is a good lime background flavour in this product. I paired it with curried lamb meatballs and it was an enhancement. I don’t like the gooey texture. Very syrupy. You are to stir the jar well before using, which I did. There are some small rind bits which I like, but mostly it’s sticky goo. Maybe this is what chutneys are like. I’ve never tried a chutney before. I won’t buy again because it’s not what I was expecting. Really want to find a chunky lime pickle condiment like the Indian restaurants serve. You might like it though. And a little goes a long way since it’s so syrupy.

I was going to give it a 5 but my husband, the cook, says it's a 4. We would definitely buy it again though. It's not very hot. I'd say it's mild in heat which is good for me. He likes everything super hot.
