Great for live
I have 2 of these for as spare units for live venue and recently used them both. They performed well and I didn’t have any noticeable noise from either of them. I would only use for quick demo studio work but live or rehearsal it’s perfect.

Stereo. Cheap. Near perfect.
The only downside? The metal (but NOT plastic!) enclosure is a bit flimsy. It hit cement one day and got a little ding. Bummer. Plastic might have cracked. I got a dinged corner. But other than that? Flawless. Good sound, plenty of bells and whistles, and most importantly for a gigging keyboardist: STEREO! For the money, it's astoundingly good. And that metal enclosure? I wouldn't take it on a world tour, but it's perfect for the gigging weekend warrior like me. Highly recommended.

Great PASSIVE Direct Box - Know what that means before you get it.
So this is a good product for a decent price if you know what it is you're getting. What this is, is a passive direct box with nothing but a transformer to match impiedance between XLR balanced and 1/4" unbalanced. As such a few things to keep in mind are that this is not an amplifier, it has no active powered electronics inside. Also there is some inherent loss in any transformer, so the signal coming out may not be quite as strong as the signal going in. If you're looking for a lossless direct box with low impiedance, then you will want an active direct box with operational amplifiers and powered circuits. This is not on of those. But having said that, it does a fairly good job and is built like a brick ####-house. It has some serious weight to it, and if it fails as a proper direct box for you it can certainly be used as a theft deterrent device. Seriously though, good little unit. Since there is no active electronics there is little to no chance of inducing extra noise or hum. It does have some attenuation resistors (meaning it can make loud things quieter) for if you are feeding something with higher volume like a speaker output into something that's expecting lower volume like a microphone input. It also has the ability to do ground lift, if you're getting ground loop hum. (And if you don't know what that is, simply nod and act impressed.)All in all I rated it with 4 stars because as long as you know what you're getting, its a great little unit. But just be sure you do some reading on the differences between active and passive direct boxes. Happy Hunting!

Simple, useful and inexpensive
I bought two of these because they were inexpensive and worth a try. They have proven to be useful for a number of applications. Over the summer I used one between my portable PA and a couple of rechargable powered monitors. The attenuation feature came in handy as one of the monitors has a very hot input, so padding it down gave me more control over the volume. At church I've used them to run a stereo keyboard mix to the main PA so the dual channels is nice. I have been satisfied with the sound quality, but I haven't done any head-to-head comparisons with other units. I use mostly for my keyboards that are putting out a line level signal and where I have a lot of tone control available so I can't comment on how the DI might color the sound of a direct guitar, bass or similar instrument. Considering that a top rated professional DI costs 5 times more, these are a great value for the part time musician.

Works Great.
Good product at an affordable price. Was able to successfully link 2x 25’ instrument cables to reach an amp, while simultaneously grabbing the DI signal. No noise due to length because of the design of the box. Highly recommend for a cheaper quick DI.

Works for me
Our new outdoor karaoke system consist of JBL partybox 1000, Moukey 300ch Mic set, Tenlamp G4 pro mixer, (alternate with Diamondboxx L3 + PAsub15 subwoofer). The whole thing was totally unusable in the last 3 weeks due to excessive RFI /EMI. We have power conditioners, ground loop isolators, none of them work. So I decided to purchase this PYLE-PRO Premium Direct Injection Audio Box. The system is usable again, now better than ever, just like that. No more hum or any other annoying signal noise.I was almost in tears on how pleased we were with this device, think about all the frustrations we had with our rig, and now they just work when everything else we BOUGHT failed. Thanks Pyle (in this case should be pronounced "pal").

Very cheap in price and quality, but useful and OK-working.
As with so many other reviews, one of the switches was bad. It only took me about half an hour to open the box, repair the switch, and put it back together again. One of the screws holding the box together was stripped badly, so I had to replace it. The construction of the box itself is rugged and sturdy, but the stripped screw and bad switch mean poor quality. I don't know if anybody else has this problem, but this thing adds hum and reduces bass at the -20db setting, but sounds good in the other settings. I can't help thinking their choice of resistor values in the attenuation section was poor, but I'm not sure. For the price, though, you can't beat it! Despite the problems, I'm glad I bought it, and I will get a lot of good use out of it.
