It will take a bit of practice. I ordered this with next day delivery to coincide with my first extraction of 2019 in Plant City Florida. This particular model with cut you if you are not careful and that is good because it means it's sharp. It takes a bit of practice. I butchered the first half of a medium frame figuring this out. Does not require the pressure I imagined it would. First off, this is my first time harvesting anything from my bees, so my experience with any other method is nonexistent. What I will say is that once you figure out the pressure and angle its pretty easy to peel off thin layers of cappings. A surprising detail is that the process is a visual one as well as tactile. The frosty white cappings will turn honey colored as you move the tool thru the cappings. All in all a very nice tool.

I've only used it on a small piece of capped comb, but it works very well. I have been using a serrated knife to uncap and this is much better. It doesn't dig into the comb, just takes the caps off. It has a nice weight to it, also. I'm glad that I ordered it. Thank you very much!

Overall this did make uncapping go faster. It works best on flat comb that is newly capped. Where the comb was uneven and on the edges I had to use my other uncapping fork. On thicker honey the tool would get stuck or drag slowly and it does clog up with wax which you then need to remove. I like that I am using my arm differently with this tool so it gives my muscles a break. I do recommend this but know that it's not as perfect as advertised unless your comb is perfect.

Uncapping honey is a tedious job, this device made it even worse. We use the "fork: type hand uncappers and this device, as demonstrated, looked like something that would work, well it didn't. This device needs frames to be perfectly level and even, something that is not seen too often in hives. This product does not work, plain and simple. Don't waste your money.

I was skeptical but once I used it I was very impressed. I had seen the videos online showing how easy it was to use but was in doubt. There is a learning curve to using this tool but you will catch on quickly. You need to watch the angle you are holding it as well as the pressure applied. Once you get the hang of it, a thin layer of cappings come off quite easily without damaging the comb. It takes practice not to go too deep.

Love it , works better for me then a hot knife, it’s smooth and not a lot of effort to use it. My other beekeeper he’s getting one too.

I use a heated honey capping knife for a majority of my uncapping - however, this uncapping scraper worked beautifully on the parts that were lower than what the knife could get. I wouldn’t even hesitate to skip the heated knife & use this scraper. It did not take off any excess wax and was really easy to clean up. I highly recommend this to any beekeepers out there. Great buy.

Seems to be good quality for the price. Haven't used it yet but I'm sure it will work well. Ive seen other people use this exact thing and it seems to be one of the best ways to get it done
