Beginnings is a beautiful book by Anne Geddes. All the babies in there are so cute! I could not believe in such a unique deals!I love all pictures by Anne Geddes! I was very happy when I bought this beautiful book in Jewel for $6. My friends asked: "there was only one?" Then.... I checked on amazon (my favorite "store") and you can imagine how I was surprised when I saw a price- $2.74. Yes! I couldn't belive. I started count who can be happy receiving such a wonderful gift. I decided I take 4, but on stock was 3. Anyway for 3, huge, beautiful, unique, published only 1 year ago book I paid less then $9. Shortly - amazing Amazon!!!

I was looking forward to seeing more photos by anne geddes as she can take beautiful photos. However, this book is composed of photos that are more a "art" taste than beautiful or cute. With the exception of the baby on the egg for the cover and a shot of a baby in hands, the photos were just too weird for my taste.I would only recommend this book for someone that has a more off the beaten path taste as it is just too different from the images I associate with the photographer. It is one of those books I think a person should flip through in a store to be sure it is something they want. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd done that and won't be keeping it.

This book is huge and the quality is amazing! I had a great pleasure admiring Anne's work, she is a true artist. The intro gives a little insight about the photographer's works, how she looks for inspiration, images, how much time is spent on looking for concepts and on actual shooting. I found it really helpful in terms of understanding Gedde's art

I have always LOVED Anne Geddes' work. I have her baby photos all over my house. I saw her in a TV interview recently talking about her new book. I guess I didn't pay close enough attention to her description of the content. The book was not at all what I expected. It was not her usual depiction of babies. I was very disappointed...and did not care for it at all.I do, however, appreciate the speed with which Amazon shipped the book to me and for the very, very reasonable pricing of the book.Sincerely,Linda Carpenter

I have loved her books in the past, but this one felt like she was running out of ideas. It went like this: Empty nest. Nest on headless belly. Baby in nest. Leaf. Leaf on headless belly. Baby in leaf. Oh yes, and there were a ton of different nests. One picture per page, and some pages with no picture at all.Maybe I don't understand the 'art' that she was going for, but it felt really lacking. For a $50 book I expected more. I got it for $4 with shipping and I still feel ripped off. Save your money, even if it is just $4.

I felt that there were too many pictures of the pregnant women and not enough of the babies. It was such a huge book and I certainly feel as if there could have been much more photo shoots of the newborns than there were! A little disappointed in this one and I have loved all of her books!!!

Once again, Anne Geddes takes my breath away with her amazing art with newborn babes. She tugs at my heart with each image and tells the story of each individual precious tiny life that she photographs. Thank goodness she has put so much of her work into print for people like me to enjoy - over and over again.

really disappointed having received this book today. Without doubt the shots are excellent and the themes and aim of the book is obvious, but i bought this for inspiration for new born baby photography and feel let down by it. There are just as many plant, nest, flower and seed shots in the book as there are inspirational new born baby pics if not more. There is no detail other than the name and age of the baby and what plant,flower,seed it has been photographed with. A once look book and you won't bother again

Although the photographs are nice, I was expecting more photographs of babies and not ones of seeds, flowers and pregnant women.
