Heavy, high-quality flatwareI had a 20-piece set of Yamazaki Old Denmark flatware years ago. For some reason, I decided I needed a change, which I now regret (and will probably sell or donate my no-longer-current flatware). This flatware is heavy, wonderfully-weighted and very well made (Japan). Just two notes: As noted in another review, the salad and dinner forks have just three tines each and are somewhat short. And, the design of the dinner knife is very old-fashioned. Personally, I love everything about this flatware ... so, I pulled out my old 20-piece set and just added another 20 pieces via Amazon. I'll never change my flatware pattern again!

I absolutely love this flatware design. My husband and I have been using it for more than 25 years, and I recently purchased a few settings to replace pieces lost and inadvertently damaged in the food grinder. These sets are just as beautiful (and heavy - a feature I particularly like) as the ones we received for our wedding, and I'll be happy with them for another 25 years.

My husband and I love the design and the weight of this place setting. They also complement our every day Simon Pearce dishes. You can't go wrong with these!

I bought this 5 piece place setting as replacement for three "missing" pieces. I purchased my original set for 12 in 1995 and every piece still looks as good as new. Turns out it was less expensive to buy the five pieces than just the three missing ones (from another source). As described above, workmanship and durability are outstanding. I expect to continue to use this tableware for years.

A friend of mine had a dinner fork of this pattern. Only one fork. It was used as a small serving fork. After using it I went online to find out what it was. I purchased eight place settings. I can see why the pieces retail at $85 per place setting. The quality is the best I have ever encountered and the balance of each piece is perfect. I am sorry that I didn't know about this company and pattern 20 years ago.
