Some of these voices will ring true
Well, of course you need to have an interest in this, but if you are of Jewish heritage or belief and you feel more comfortable in a UU congregation, these voices will ring true to you. Or at least some of them. Especially helpful if you attend a congregation with very few Jews. It helps to understand why, in this non-creedal religion, you can still feel like a fish out of water culturally.

This book would appeal to a Jewish U.U.
Although I have heard Marty give several talks at Unitarian Universalist Congregations, I wasn't as impressed with the book as I thought I would be. I think, if you are Jewish, and attend a UU congregation, it might be interesting because you could relate to the different essays. I will send the book to my Jewish granddaughters who sometimes attend the UU congregation in Miami, Fl.

Highly recommended.
I am a Unitarian Universalist and formerly quite ignorant about the Jewish experience within our culture. I know a lot more now. This book will expand most people's knowledge beyond what we think we know. Highly recommended.

excellent
Recommended for all Unitarian Universalists who seek to create beloved community. Enlightening about ways we perpetuate barriers and painful marginalization in our congregations thoughtlessly.

Relieved to have my thoughts echoed
As a Jewish Unitarian Universalist, I was hoping for some interesting insights. What amazed me (but probably shouldn't have) is that many of the contributors to this book have experienced some of the same feelings I have had over the 18 years I have been a UU. A must read for any Jewish UU who has nagging doubts or ever feels kind of "uncomfortable" with their congregation or with the word.....CHURCH! We are not alone! It makes me want to start a Jewish Awareness group within my own UU congregation.
