Finally good price LED mr16 bulbs
I have been waiting for LED MR16 bulbs to get cheap enough to make it worth while making the switch to LED. These dont quite dim as low as incondescent MR16s, but good enough. There are no LEDs that truly replicate the warmth of incondescent bulbs, but these still do a good job. They give off a warm light that is as good as it gets for LEDs. One note... you have to get a dimmer switch that is designed to work with LEDs. My old one did not work correctly with these bulbs. They flikered at full high, and would not completely shut off. Once I replaced the dimmer switch with LED dimmer, there was no more problems. They work great. And I would say that they are brighter than the 50W incondescents that they replaced. Well worth the money.

Again these have failed
As promised, here's an update: 2 more have failed. Perhaps I should make a step ladder part of my decorator scheme. Amazon says I have bought this 6 pack six times. I don't have precise math, but I'd say the failure rate is above 10%. If a bulb is easy to replace, maybe these are worth it as the overall cost is low. But if inconvenient, I'd try another brand. Amazon should get its act together on quality. ------earlier review --------- Bought 6 a year ago for replacement as needed. Tried one last week; after a day or two, it started blinking on and off; When I replaced it the new bulb was dead on arrival. Finally, the third worked! I have three more to try in the box but don't feel like getting a ladder out to test them in the ceiling. Will update this review in the future if they fail. I thought I was buying a 10,000 hour bulb that would keep me off ladders.

Some of These Bulbs Flicker
I've installed these in a kitchen track-lighting system. The light fixtures have rose-colored glass lampshades which are normally prettily lit by the semi-transparent reflector in a GU 5.3 halogen bulb. Firstly, these LED bulbs do not have a semi-transparent reflector, so the lampshade is dark, not lit. This was expected, based on the photos of the bulb. Secondly, these bulbs are slightly longer than halogens, thus protrude slightly from the lampshades. Therefore, they do not look quite as refined as a halogen bulb in this particular fixture. Also, this bulb is a little heavier than a halogen, so it might slip out of an old, worn fixture that relies on friction to hold the bulb by the 2 electrical pins. Thirdly, some of these bulbs have a random flicker when the dimmer is cranked all the way up. It's very weird because all 6 bulbs are on the same 12V DC dimmer, and not all of them flicker. Turning the dimmer down to the 3/4 position solves the flicker without much of an impact to the brightness. This may be due to older dimmer technology supplying more than 12V, which can cause the bulb to overheat and throttle back the brightness. Aside from these issues, the bulb design looks nicer than many others, they are plenty bright, have a wide and even light distribution, dim well enough, and the "Warm White" color is slightly whiter than the original halogen bulbs. Not bad, but not perfect.

Looking bright, running cooler (than the Halogen bulb)
Just received the six pack. I removed a halogen lamp from the spotlight in front of a tree in the front and replaced it with this one. The halogen was HOT!!! Waste of energy. This bulb is brighter. Doing a little math, this one bulb will save $9 in a year over the halogen one.

After 6 months of daily use NO failures (yet).
I've tried any number of MR-16 LED, for both inside and outside my house. SATCO seems to be one of the most reliable - but pricey. I tried these from Amazon Basics and so far they have performed better than many of the brands offered at low prices. At $4 / ea, these were not only very well priced but the color temperature and light output were excellent. I've used these in my outdoor landscaping lights and have not had ANY failures since installed over 6 months of daily use. Many other brands failed within the first month of use. Very satisfied and recommended.

Not recommended for use with dimmers
Although the bulbs are advertised as dimmable, they do not seem to be compatible with dimmers, or perhaps they're just poorly made. Dimming works, but the bulbs tend to flicker when placed in track connected to a dimmer switch, even if the dimmer is turned up to full brightness. Turning the dimmer down, then back up to full brightness usually resolves the flickering temporarily, but it's not a great solution.

Great bulbs
These bulbs fit nicely and feel solidly constructed. They seem to last and are bright but not too bright. I recommend getting these in the yellow colors - I normally like cool white bulbs for the way that they can feel like natural light, but in this size, I've found that the white ones can be harsh and feel like a hospital.
