StonyLab Glass 125ml Heavy Wall Single Neck Flat Bottom Boiling Flask, with 24/40 Standard Taper Outer Joint, 125ml

I used this flat bottomed flask in a evaporation experiment using a magnetic spin bar coupled with a standard evaporator which I also bought from Laboy to include a 30 degree neck. I was skeptical about the ability of the flask to deal with quenching water once the molten mass had reacted but it performed flawlessly. Recovery of the water from the solution was 99.4% via the condenser tube. I have used Laboy glassware seldom in the past but am convinced now that the future use will be exclusive in our labs.

I LOVE this flask, it’s so versatile I use it for everything! It’s thick, it seals tight and despite how much I’ve abused it, it doesn’t have a chip on it! It even survived being used for boiling a solution and then dunked into liquid nitrogen without a cool down period.

Great Halloween prop, which subsequently broke on the one day of use.

Perfect for distillation purposes.

Have only used this as a receiving flask and have not heated it yet but I have no doubt it will be fine for that. Thick glass and no blemishes. Stony lab seems to be some of the better quality glassware in Amazon. Shipping was fast for this item as well.

Wish I would of had a chance to use this bad boy. I m such a butter fingers thst I literally had this thing in my possession for less then 5 minutes before dropping and smashing it completely. I bet it would have worked great but ill never know. It would be a dope idea to offer glass insurance I cant seem to keep glass anything around for more then a couple weeks tops before breaking or dropping the damn thing.

Decent thick enough walls to stand up to regular use. I continue to be impressed with StonyLab glassware.

Possiedo una decina di palloni made in China più economici, eppure questo è decisamente il peggiore: le pareti sono pericolosamente fragili e sottili, al punto da causare serie preoccupazioni circa la possibilità di esplosione durante il riscaldamento. Inoltre, il volume effettivamente utilizzabile è decisamente inferiore rispetto quello dichiarato: infatti, al volume nominale, il pallone risulta pieno quasi al 100% (mentre normalmente dovrebbe essere pieno per non più del 55-65% per garantire un’ebollizione in sicurezza; tutti i miei altri palloni non superano il 50%). Assolutamente bocciato.
