Highly recommended!
Vegetarian for a New Generation is a fantastic cookbook. Liana Krissoff has to be one of the strongest (though more low-key) cookbook authors out there right now. Like her last book (Whole Grains), I wasn't sure that I needed another cookbook on a well-covered topic like vegetarian food (I am not a vegetarian). However, just like her Whole Grains book, this is well worth the purchase. There is very little re-hashing of the same old vegetarian food here. This is a great resource for eating fresh, healthy and affordable food all year long. This is a great cookbook because it includes such a wide variety of dishes - not just in ingredients, but also in preparation time and complexity. There are many dishes that are quick and easy for a weeknight dinner, but she also includes snacks and slightly more complicated dishes as well - whatever you're looking for! Dishes we've tried and loved include: Dry-fried green beans with garlic chips and peanut sauce, Healing stew, One-baking-sheet tomatoes and chickpeas, Amy's breakfast poha, Herby falafel, Salt-wilted kale with chile and sesame, and Chipotle potato tacos. The list of dishes I'm excited to try is even longer!

Veggie goodness
Yo, turns out cooking without meat is possible and delicious. Okay, I knew that but I love a creative cookbook. This one is a bit more high end. Can't say I have a lot of these items on hand typically but so worth it for when I want to cook a new meal!

Vegetarian for a New Generation: Seasonal Vegetable Dishes
Vegetarian for a New Generation: Seasonal Vegetable Dishes: I wanted a vegetarian cookbook that was slanted more toward veggies and didn't just redo all the oldies. This is also gluten-free, but I didn't notice it because I saw so many interesting veggie dishes. The author also groups the veggies, so when you want recipes for a specific vegetable, they're not spread out all over the book. A lot of European and Indian recipes, with some Asian. Nothing too weird or hard to get at a large city supermarket or ethic grocery. Some helpful basic recipes.

Great flavors for vegetarians and omnivores
We've already used many of the recipes in this book and we've loved them all. We are not a vegetarian household but we have friends with all kinds of dietary restrictions and this book will be extremely helpful. We participate in multiple community gardens so having the chapters broken down into seasons is very helpful. Even though many of the recipes are dead simple, I'd say this is a vegetarian book for sophisticated omnivores.
