Do you need an edge/membrane trigger to get the crash sound? Can the membrane trigger be connected to this trigger (dual zone)?

No you don’t need to have à membrane trigger to get the crash sound because there is a piezzo insiste the goedrum . Otherwise i think it’s only a single zone trigger . You Have to modify the trigger or use two if you want dual zone .

In the product description, #2 says "2. This trigger will allow you to perform a bow sound.". What does this mean? What is a bow sound?

A traditional cymbal's bell is that bulge part around the center where the cymbal is attached to the stand, and the bow is from the edge of the bell to the circumference edge of the cymbal. This trigger is designed to only pickup the bow part providing that you mount it the standard way.
