Lightweight, and I can see ducks on the other side of the reservoir in detail!
Already have a pair of binoculars and a monocular from Aurosport and thought both seem a surprisingly good value for the money. So when they asked if I’d like to test out this spotting scope, I was more than happy to do so!Took it down to a local reservoir to look at birds and was able to look at the ducks even on the far end of the reservoir! With my naked eye, these ducks looked like sort of duck shaped dots - then I looked through the spotting scope and I could see them like they’re right in front of me!There were some ducks that I couldn’t identify with my naked eye and that I was curious about and looking through the spotting scope I could see that they’re a species of duck that isn’t usually there!Saw that another user said that the image isn’t super crisp. It wasn’t as easy to get to a really clear and crisp image as with their binoculars and maybe doesn’t get to quite the same level of clarity - but it’s reasonable and for purposes of seeing little ducks at a distance and wondering what kind they are, it works great! For these first few tries using it, it tended to take longer to get a new area initially into focus than with their binoculars, but once it is in focus it’s easy to keep it that way and to focus on other things near it (I bought a really cheap pair of binoculars once that did not achieve this, and so know this is not something that can automatically be taken for granted!)Quite possibly, they will be easier to focus once I have more practice - just giving my experience as someone who zero prior experience using spotting scopes who may be going through a learning curve on that.I also haven’t had any success looking through it with sunglasses on - not sure if that is possible or not.Overall, I’m excited to use this scope on long hikes when we might welcome an excuse to stop, rest and spend a few minutes looking at distant scenery or an animal that’s at a distance and we’re talking about maybe going up to Yellowstone and hanging out and watching for wildlife for a bit.Am reminded of one time we saw a grizzly at something of a distance (us and 15 other people) and it was still pretty small through binoculars that amplified only 10x. It would’ve been great to have this along! So, overall am happy with the product and excited to use it! Held back the 5th star just because it took a little bit of fiddling to get it in focus and (though it may be silly) because I can’t seem to use it with sunglasses on.

Decent for the Money
I recently purchased a pair of Aurosport small binoculars (supposedly 10x25 but more like 7x25, IMHO). The bottom line for this scope is the same as for those binoculars - decent for the money. I’ve never owned a spotting scope and haven’t looked through many, so I was very excited to get this scope and try it out. It’s pretty obvious that its design is modeled after Swarovski scopes, which are obviously in a completely different class (and price point) than this one.The scope comes with a zipped case with a carrying strap, a cleaning cloth, lens caps for both exposed lenses, instructions, and a small metal tripod. The tripod I received isn’t level, but that wasn’t overly surprising, nor does it particularly bother me. If you have a table or other surface on which to place the little tripod, it certainly does its job of keeping the scope from falling over and getting broken. I was surprised, but the legs spread wide enough to keep the setup stable. I wanted something talked I could stand next to, so I mounted it on a professional camera tripod, which was simple enough with the mounting plate. One can see far away with the scope. Magnification is supposedly between 25x-75x, adjustable with the eyepiece. I don’t know how accurate the magnifications are, but after my experience with their binoculars, I’m a bit suspicious. Regardless, it doesn’t matter much, because while the scope does get you close to things that are very far away, it just doesn’t give you the crisp clarity that you’re longing for. (Maybe that’s why people spend $1,500 for a Swarovski?) In comparing to my Orion 8x42 wide angle binoculars, the scope gets me closer but only reveals marginally more detail. I think it will be fun to play with, but unless something is pretty close to me, I”m not sure how useful it will be. But I am a birdwatcher, so I’ll have to see how it does at a birdwatching spot and report back.As for quality, it seems decent enough. The focus knob (like the zoom knob on my Aurosport binoculars) has a little loose play when you switch directions. It’s not a gauge deal, though it can make getting the best focus a bit challenging, but it just speaks to engineering quality. Furthermore, I rolled down the rubber on the eyepiece (as I do on all my binoculars, though I don’t wear glasses), because I find that my view is better that way. This was no problem, but when I rolled it back up to put the eyepiece cover on, the rubber ring simply fell off. It was easy enough to get back on, but again, there appears to be a QC issue here. And speaking of the eyepiece cover, it doesn’t fit snugly over the eyepiece, so if I tilt the scope beyond horizontal (not at all uncommon when it’s getting carried around on a tripod or put back into its carrying case), it falls off. It’s just begging to get lost, which would be a disappointment. So again, as I said at the outset, this spotting scope is decent for the money. It’s probably good for people who are getting started with a scope, seeing if they like whatever hobby they are playing with, but if and when they get serious, they will certainly want to upgrade to something of higher quality. Given its size, I think my use for it will be pretty limited. We’ll see how it does with the birds.

Enjoyed the use of my first spotting scope
I purchased the Aurosport Spotting Scope because the price was good and the specifications were in the range of what I was looking for. I took the scope out to one of my favorite spots to walk when I want to look for deer and birds. Even though it was cold I set the scope up across the lake. It didn't take long to spot a deer in the woods. I started at 25x power to find him, then with two easy clicks I was able to go to 75x power. It was amazing the detail I could see from across the lake. This is much better than the best binoculars I have. I can't wait until summer to spot lake freighters on Lake Ontario. My next stop is to go to the Niagara River and spot water fowl that we get over the winter. Please note that the tripod is not the one with the scope. This is my tripod I use for my camera. The tripod that comes with it would need a table or platform to use for a person as tall as me.

Pretty nice scope
I was looking for a spotting scope for when I go the range. I found this one to be optically clear and eay to focus. The sun shade adds a nice touch to reduce glare. The tripod could be a bit sturdier, as it doesn't seem to balance as you manuver the scope with the turn handle. It does lock into position very well and this it just needs to be heavier. The scope is super lightweight and it comes with a nice carry bag that fits the scope and tripod nicely. The price came down a bit since my purchase, so I would say you get some great optics for the money.
