Beautiful true gold; works as a paint or a powder
This is exactly what I needed! The first jar I ordered came with the lid partially unscrewed and gold powder all over the inside of the bag it was shipped in, but they replaced the product with no hassle at all.It works perfectly and is a beautiful true gold color. As a powder it is very sheer and shimmery, but when used as paint it looks like real gold!To use it as paint I mixed it with Everclear alcohol (vodka or a similarly high-proof clear alcohol would also work) so that once you paint it on it evaporates quickly and doesn't make the sugar flowers go soft. My method is put a little at a time in a tiny bowl and use an eyedropper to add liquid til it's the consistency of cream. Then I use a small soft brush to paint it onto the flowers. If you need more paint as you work, you can just add more dust and/or liquid as needed. Once you're finished painting I just let the paint dry back to dust and then brush it into the jar to use again later.I painted the flowers for my wedding cake gold with this. I have over half the jar left, so a little really goes a long way!

Love the shiny Gold
This Gold is great for royal icing cookies. The color is very shiny and is easy to use with no taste. A little goes a long way, so the size is perfect for the product.

Great product, research before buying.
I've been making cakes for 15 years and this is one of the best gold luster dusts I've used. It is a true metallic gold color. If you aren't an experienced cake decorator, do some research before buying and then leaving 1 star reviews on a product that is actually pretty darn great if you know what you're doing and buying.Firstly, this product is sold by weight. 7 grams is actually a lot if you know how to use the product. It is however still only 7 grams. The container holds more than 7 grams so It will of course not be full. If it came in a 7 gram container, it would be much smaller, hard to handle and use.Secondly, the description states the item is non edible but this is because it is not FDA approved for human consumption in the U.S. ALL metallic cake decorations along with ALL glitter dust is technically non edible. They are however non toxic and in small quantities will not harm most people if ingested.Leaving a bad review on a really great product because of your own lack of understanding and research of said product isn't fair to the seller or potential buyers.

Painted on white chocolate drizzle and painted onto buttercream. WORKED AWESOME.
I have never used this product before and have used other luster dusts that were more expensive. This worked perfect for painting on buttercream cake with white chocolate drizzles. I did a dry run with royal icing and could not get a nice effect. I am not a big fan of royal icing anyway. I would recommend doing in white chocolate + it tastes yummy. This product works great with painting on buttercream and it will work with sugar flowers as well. I have paid twice as much for other products and had better results. ***be sure to use lemon or almond extract mixed in to a paste... A little goes a long way!

Dull
Tiny bottle and more of a dull gold but works well for antique chocolate frames

Edible, not non toxic!
I used this to decorate homemade candies. People raved about how rich and elegant they looked.I took a dry paint brush and dipped it in the powder. Then I shook it off into a small container with a tight top.I used a drop or two of lemon extract to make a liquid and painted it on with a fine brush. When I was done I let the extract evaporate and put the top on for the next use. A drop of extract and it was ready the next time, so virtually no waste.

A little goes a long way
Newbie home baker and I needed gold dust for a unicorn cake. I didn’t have to use a lot and I love the way it turned out! The color was perfect!! I’m not experienced by any means with this stuff, so I mixed a little with vanilla extract and brushed it on. Let it dry and when I went to brush more on, what was already on there was coming off. So I dipped my brush in the dry powder and it went on perfectly! I’m not sure if that’s the proper way to use it, but it worked for me! I did not taste it, so I’m giving it 1 star for flavor.
