Loved The Yellow One, So Bought This Red One!
I originally purchased the Yellow S107G from Amazon. I still have that and it flies GREAT! It's so easy to fly that my 6-year old grandson can fly it. He kept using mine, so I bought him this red one for himself. This review will be similar to my review on the Yellow S107G. However, in that review, I make a comparison to the Air Hogs Sharp Shooter that I used to own. If interested in the comparison, you can look at my other reviews.NOTE: There are "fake" S107s sold by some companies, so I am happy to report that this one fulfilled by Amazon is the REAL thing!PROS of just S107G:* 3-channel (can fly backwards)* Gryo makes hovering and flight dead solid easy* Very powerful, great lift, reacts quickly to input* Durable - almost impossible to break* BEST THING: There are LOTS of replacement parts available at fair prices (nearly ever part of the helicopter)* Has pretty long flight time for a small bettery-powered heli (about 8-minutes per flight)* Very inexpensive for such quality - less than $30 delivered!* Can be charged via USB cord from computer or AC/USB wall charger (saves batteries in radio)CONS of the S107G:* It takes 40-50 minutes per charge - that's longer then other small helicopters.* Not very fast. Once you get used to flying it, you wish it would fly forward much faster. Here are some things I learned from forums and have verified in my own flights:* Don't fly the helicopter right up to when the battery completely dies - the LIPO batteries don't like to be run dry.* Turn the controller on FIRST, then turn on the helicopter.* IMPORTANT: Hold the helicopter totally still for a couple seconds after turning it on - that stabilizes the gyro.* IMPORTANT: The first time you press the left stick for throttle, nothing will happen...* Not to worry, that's because the controller is registering it's channel to the helicopter.* Don't turn off the controller - just try it again and it will work fine.* On the first flight, don't even touch the right stick - just lift to a hover with the left stick. Now you're ready to fly in all directions.* Imagine yourself in the cockpit - that makes the controls more intuitive when flying towards you.* When done flying, turn off the helicopter first, then turn off the controller (it has something to do with the gyro).* The little propeller on the tail only runs when you press forward or reverse, so don' worry that it doesn't always run.* The small rotor tips the helicopter slightly either forward or reverse causing it to fly that direction (slowly).* The S107G is not fast, but it's stable as hell. That makes it great for first time flyers or for kids.* My 6-year old grandson flies it perfectly. It makes a great toy for a young boy (plus an old boy like me!)BUY ONE AND HAVE A BLAST!!

My first and favorite helicopter
I'm giving this product a 4.5 stars.I wanted to buy an inexpensive helicopter that was going to be a success. I saw this online and decided to check it out after reading all of the positive reviews. Once I got it in the mail, I verified the contents to be sure if it was a legitimate product and it was. I really hated the twisty ties they used to hold in the helicopter inside the box. It was a pain and I was worried about using too much force to get it out. Well, everything turned out fine. I tried seeing if it was ready to be flown right out of the box but it wasn't quite there yet. I recharged it for about 30 minutes and bam; it flew like a bird for about 8 minutes. Of course being an amateur at this toy, I had trouble getting to fly properly but eventually I got better as I played with it. I gotta say that this toy can really take a beating. I crashed this helicopter into so many things that the worse I've done to it at the time was that I scratched up the wings. I love the engineer at this little helicopter. This toy was designed to be simple and effective and it is very easy to open up the toy and fix it up when needed. I already own this toy for about 3 weeks and already I broke it. Haha The helicopter took a dive into my dog's water bowl. Oh man, was I worried that it wouldn't work anymore. I dried it off for about 30 minutes and checked to see if it would still turn on. Yep, it was still working. I was impatient and wanted to play with it again, so I ignored the fact that I still needed it to dry and kept on playing with it. The helicopter still flew, but I began to notice that the helicopter was losing power very quickly. I charged it up and again, the power was quickly depleting. Eventually, it would either shut off after using about ¾ of the throttle or a dim red light would flash instead of the bright red/blue LED lights and nothing would function. I tried searching online and seeing how I could fix this problem. My mom said to buy another one, but it would have cost another $20 out of my pocket. I troubleshoot the problem myself and found out that it's most likely that the battery went out. The helicopter would still turn on, so power could still cycle around the helicopter. The helicopter wings would still spin when being used when charged, so the chip or motors didn't get damaged. I bought a set of miniature Philip screw drivers at my job (Dollar Tree) and they fit perfectly for $1.05 as well as electrical tape for $1.05. I ordered two batteries for the helicopter here on Amazon.com and was getting ready to attempt to fix and modify my helicopter. Once the batteries came in, I immediately started working on my helicopter. I used a pair of wire cutters, 3/43 Philip screw driver, electrical tape, the two batteries, my broken helicopter, and my imagination. I took apart the helicopter, removed the damaged battery, exposed the power wires, shorten the wires from the two new batteries, connected both of the batteries and the power wires; black to black and red to red using the electrical tape, used electrical tape and strapped on the extra battery underneath the helicopter; between the two legs, inserted the replacement battery on the front nose, taped it into place, and finally closed everything up. Power was following through and everything was a success. The batteries needed to charge and I waited about 1 hour and 46 minutes. When it was done, I manage to get it to work like almost new for about... 16 minutes and 31 seconds. Of course, the helicopter has some trouble staying in the air for a long time with the extra weight but it still manage to last for that length of time. Near the end of that time, it was getting ready to die. In my conclusion, if you want a toy helicopter, get this fun little toy. It's very fun, durable, design is incredible; easy to modify without soldering tools, and everything is replaceable.Pros:LightweightThe designEasy to modifyVery funFor kids and adultsDurableThe priceParts are replaceableCons:IR Transmitter/receiver for remote and helicopterOnly designed for indoorsNo built in video cam :POriginal battery doesn't last that longCharging takes forever even before and after modification
