Must Buy
I was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis and for someone who loves to cook amazing-healthy and fresh food, this was a very disarming revelation to say the least. This book has given me hope, with great recipes as opposed to the clinical internet medical advice for eating/cooking for this disease. The cookbook is also full of good advice and helpful descriptions about the disease and how to adjust your lifestyle, while making it easy for you to follow a routine while you adjust. I highly recommend this book to all those adjusting to Gastroparesis and similar digestive and autoimmune diseases.

Totally worth it, I highly recommend this book if you have been diagnosed with gastroparesis especially if you are just learning how to manage food and meals. This book has taught me more than my doctors can about what I can eat and what I cant. This gives us great ideas on how to change up my meals so I can enjoy food again. I have tabs on my favorite recipes. This is a must have in your cookbook collection if you have gastroparesis.

Great Support
It took 20+ years for me to be properly diagnosed with gastroparesis from Dysautonomia/POTS Syndrome. Untreated gastroparesis led to SIBO, h. Pylori, gastritis, atrophy and pernicious anemia. It is no joke! My G.I. doctor recommended FODMAP which has helped but I wanted more advice how to handle flares. This book validated what foods my body naturally gravitates toward, and why I digest certain foods better than others. It includes helpful information, including resources for support. The recipes are more inspiration for me than groundbreaking. It’s nice to have simple ideas when not feeling well. My only gripe is all the stevia listed in recipes. Stevia is banned in other countries, it’s not deemed safe. I can’t tolerate it at all. Organic sugar, maple syrup, honey are plenty of healthy options IMO (for those of us not diabetic. I understand the book seems to highlight diabetes gastroparesis, but it would be nice if it were a bit more inclusive. POTS/Dysautonomia wasn’t mentioned at all, and our community suffers greatly with it.) Overall, very thankful for this book and finally feeling like I understand this condition and the best foods to manage it.

WIsh I could give it a 4.5 or 5
I really wanted to give this a 4.5 or 5 star review, and I may change my mind yet, but man. I don't know if it's the gastroparesis diagnosis or the diet or WHAT, but the recipes I tried from this book really left me craving real veggies. I know that the author did a fabulous job of presenting the material in a way that was 'less distressing' than what my GI Dr. did, but still. I need a stalk of broccoli! For the diet and restrictions necessary, I give this a solid 4 because the background information and a few of the recipes I tried were in fact very flavorful. But it's hard to disguise the fact that the requirements for the GP diet are just plan blah.

“The Gastroparesis Cookbook” really is more than a cookbook. This book is very well written, comprehensive, and has everything from what gastroparesis is, to what you should be eating, as well as a variety meal plans. The recipes in this cookbook are nicely organized. The recipes range from people who suffer from just gastroparesis to people who also have other conditions such as diabetes, gluten and lactose allergies, etc. There are many other resources available throughout this cookbook besides just all the amazing recipes. There is plenty of information on gastroparesis itself, how it affects people, what you can do about it and meal plans to keep you on track. I have yet to meet a recipe in this book that I have not loved. I also have a great deal more of information in my head now after reading this book. I did receive this book for free.

Great recipes!
I've been using this book for a month now to make all of my meals. I love most of the recipes, although some seem to have errors or mistakes in the listed quantities. For example, the 2 tbsp of gelatin called for in one recipe just leaves you with inedible rubber. Another recipe calls for 2 tbsp of tarragon which is an insane amount for the recipe.A lot of these meals make great leftovers, so i rarely have to cook. It's made managing my gp so much easier, and I'm eating much healthier than before! I used to subsist on things with little nutritional value like broth, rice, crackers, and the rare serving of squash. I'm eating a lot more fruits and vegetables now without causing symptoms.

Great Resource Just received this book and am impressed with it already. I purchased it for my son who needs this information. It's written in a clear, informative manner and filled with good information. The recipes range from simple with just a few ingredients to more elaborate meals. I love that some are gluten free because my son also has Celiac disease and he's feeling challenged about food. Actually, he's given up and doesn't see any way he can follow a special diet that's good for celiac, gp and high cholesterol. This book will help him! Highly recommend.

Good food but More info to help you with Gastroparesis
I am in awe of the cookbook. Not only is the book filled with great meals, it contains more information on what "Gastroperesis is". As a diabetic, I never heard or knew the eat ability that would help my gut. Not only did I purchase a ebook, I also purchased the book to mark up all I didn't learn in educational classes.

Decent recipes
As far as the Gastroparesis aspect is concerned, it's an alright beginner's guide. Some of the ingredients featured are actually discouraged, but everything is done in moderation, which is key to relief from rather painful symptoms related to gastro'. These recipes in addition to good research will put you well on your way to a structured diet. As with any serious medical condition, it doesn't hurt to consult your doctor or specialist about the best nutrition plan for your unique needs, so bear that in mind before diving right in.

This is so much more than a cookbook! There were tons of recipes to pick from with a variety of flavour profiles. I really appreciated all the tips about living with gastroparesis and the way recipes were indexed according to different dietary restrictions. Anyone I've shown it to has been impressed.
