NTSC/Region 0. Special DVD edition of Enigma's sixth album includes 5.1 Dolby Digital and Stereo mixes with two tracks replaced by alternative versions. Coinciding with the multi-channel mix of the complete album, there is a new Electronic Press Kit interview in two languages and a new photo gallery will be included as bonus material. Other bonus material includes remixes of four tracks: 'Eppur Si Muove' (Tocadisco Remix), 'The Alchemist' (Vision By Ralf Hildenbeutel), 'Dreaming of Andromeda' (Jean F. Cochois Remix) and '20,000 Miles Over the Sea' (Boca Junior Remix). Virgin. 2006.

Enigma Today
Enigma are known for a particular style of music, usually pigeonholed under the "New Age" banner, which is unfair. Their music has evolved over the years, whilst staying true to the Enigma style. The DVD has the entire album, and single remixes accompanied by Kalaediscopic and Space themed visuals, and a superb DTS or Dolby 5.1 soundtrack. While the visuals grow a little tired after a while, the music is superb, with Enigmas usually lovely melodies. A Posteriori is a more dance oriented album than say MCMXC AD, but is none the worse for it.

Enigma in DTS
What a treat this is. One of Enigma's recent offerings in surround sound. Anyone who has heard the music of Enigma would know that it is made for this format. Whilst it is not very stimulating visually unless you enjoy looking through a kaleidoscope for an hour, aurally this dvd is a must for any Enigma fan (and I know there's a few of you out there). The DTS mix is outstanding and takes this music to a whole new level. If you have the previously released Enigma - MCMXC a. D. - The Complete Album DVD then you'll be more than happy to add this one to your collection. But wait, there's more, not only does it contain the complete "A Posteriori" album in DTS and Dolby Digital, there are bonus extended remixes of four album tracks under the menu title "Nebula". Though they are only in 2.0 Dolby, these mixes are not available via physical media anywhere else to my knowledge and are worth the purchase price alone. There is only one very very minor drawback. Where are the stand alone videos? All you get are the abstract visuals that accompany the music,a completely pointless photo gallery and two short interviews (one in English, the other in German) with Michael Cretu, the man behind Enigma. There doesn't appear to be any singles off this album apart from "Hello And Welcome" which was released for the career defining box set 15 Years After in 2005 and is here in a remixed version. There was a video released for the single mix of this track, that would have been a nice extra as well as the videos off the Voyageur album but let's face it.I bought this dvd for the music and it doesn't disappoint. The only thing I don't understand, why was it only released in South America (which is where the dvd comes from, don't worry,it is an official Virgin Music release, not a knock off)?

Eh, too much of the same thing
I love Enigma's music and have enjoyed the DVD releases that go with albums but I am going to have to agree that this one was lacking. It was novel on a few tracks, the kaleidoscope worked well for "Dreaming of Andromeda" but it got real old, real fast. My cats, however, loved it. I wandered off after a while but one of them sat there and watched it from start to finish - amusing for that aspect. It felt like watching a visualization on a computer's media player. But even those change in presentation or at least pulse in time with the music. If you're a die-hard fan and seek to add everyhing Enigma to your collection, this will fill the spot but as for replay value there isn't much reason to sit down and watch it from start to finish.

GREAT MATERIAL
hi everybody,i recommend this GREAT MATERIAL,one of the best if not the BEST of Enigma, the dvd contains an interviuw with Michael Cretu the soul behind this "PROYECT", a new version of 3 themes, Feel me Heaven, sounds variations in Message from 10,and vocals variations in Sitting on the Moon, the visualisations are not to good to be honest, but the sound un DTS is WONDERFULL, enjoy with eyes close. Healt and Life, Geo.

Eargasm
I have been a loyal enigma fan for 20 years. This album was different, but still very good. I love the DTS track, as I am a home audio guy, who loves to crank music loudly and clear. Enjoy it, with a significant other, a bottle of red and some candle light.

Disappointing Imagery, great music.
I have always loved the music of Enigma. I have had Mcmxc A.D. since shortly after it's release and still listen to it often. When I saw a few videos on YouTube I searched for the DVD's. I bought all 4 of them. The other DVD's have great imagery that keep you captivated while listening t great music. This DVD does not deliver that. The imagery on it looks no better than a High School student doing an AV project while high on drugs. It reminded me of looking through a kaleidoscope at posters of space and strange imagery. The music is still stellar ad that is why the 2 stars. As for the DVD imagery, save your money and buy the CD. It will save you the deflation of having to watch this. The others in the set are definate 5 star, not even close.

Meh
Michael Cretu has made some invigorating music in the past. However, any talent he has in music obviously doesn't translate into video releases. A Posteriori's DVD is a real snoozefest. Visually, it doesn't show anything but kaleidoscopic patterns. Within two minutes, you've already seen all you care to see. Not to mention that the video is based on one of Enigma's most boring and repetitive albums, and you now have every reason to pass on this one. Now all this COULD be saved by the 5.1 surround mix, but that's also a dud. The sound mix resembles more of an "enhanced stereo". Then on top of that, the DVD isn't in any kind of anamorphic widescreen, and the visual quality is extremely low. This is, simply put, a waste of money.

Great music, so-so video
Great music, as I expect of all Enigma material. However, the video mostly consists of synchronized geometrics and electric kaleidoscope patterns, not too unlike some of the visualizations in Windows Media Player or Winamp. Considering some of Enigma's past video work, there could have been more to this.

A disappointmenteriori
Having received a copy of A Posteriori today 22/10/09, I was slightly excited when tearing open the padded envelope and opening up the dvd and pressing the play button. At the start the usual inspiring and mystical Enigma sound and expecting another set of wonderful spiritual videos to the music. Woops, not the case I am afraid. All we get thoughtout the main dvd, is rather nice computer generated kaleidoscope effects. I was expecting better even for the Goodbye Milkyway, (people on you Tube have made better - sorry, stars, galaxies and moons would have be nicer. Can't say anything bad about the music, you know it is good. Although in the dvd there are remixed versions in the bonus part. It does not float my boat, but thats me.Thank goodness seven faces dvd is much better.

Schade.

A Trip
Having followed Enigma from it's inception, it's always a pleasure to listen to what this man has to offer. He plays most of the instruments himself. A artist of many talents, he may be one of the finest modern music composers of our time.I found the interviews interesting. I also enjoyed the many bonus tracks. This DVD is quite different than the "Remember The Future" compilation. this video album is more on the psychedelic art side with a strong emphasis on musical harmonies. A fine piece of work that will have fans of Enigma happy.
