New Shooter Finds Perfect Practice Tool!
As a new shooter I was looking for snap caps to allow me to practice loading and dry firing my new 12ga semiauto shotgun. Everything I was seeing was plastic or painted aluminum, neither of which I was comfortable using due to fear of chipping and damaging my gun. Then I found B's Dry Fire Snap Caps. At first I was put off by the price but I figured these are made from materials that are meant to be used in shotguns and should hold up. Then I did some math, and for 9 of bad boys, per shell you're paying about the same as a two pack of the cheap plastic ones. Yeah, it's still more expensive but they are worth it. As a wise tiger once said... "They're Gr-r-reat!" I've been loading and dry firing all day since they have come in and the only wear and tear is my arm from holding my gun and my finger from repeatedly pulling back the charging handle. They weight about the same as real loads and made from the same brass and hulls as well. B's recommends using them over a carpeted surface, and I would add open space. They will get away from you and last thing you want to do it start moving furniture to retrieve them. They only issue I've had so far is they have stopped cycling smoothly and get caught up, but I think that's more due to my arm and finger fatigue than the product themselves. They are showing a minor scuff marks but that would be expected. So far I love this product and will buy other calibers as I buy more firearms. Keep up the good work B's. You've gained a loyal customer.

High quality with just the right feel
I recently acquired a Benelli M4 and am starting to learn how to manipulate shotguns. These dummy rounds, while expensive, are well worth the price. Compared to the cheaper options, the weight (and the distribution of weight) is just like the real shells. It's evident that a lot of thought and engineering went into these. They feed and eject perfectly from my shotgun. I'm also able to load 7+1 into the M4 with no issues.

Excellent dummies overall
These are very good, and the weight is right to mimic a 12 gauge shell. The only problem I’ve had is, if you use tight shotshell carriers such as Aridus, then eventually the brass will pull off of the shell, but this is rare. It only happened after about 400 or 500 pulls. I’m ordering more today, so I still think they’re great and the best thing out there.

An Essential Tool For Improving Your Shotgun Skills
I’ve now used these several times (probably cycling around 200 of these dummy rounds through my 870 shotgun). These are a very easy and very effective way to brush up on your shotgun tactics and reloading procedures; they look, feel, and have the balance of live rounds. I’ve not encountered a single instance of failure to feed, and there’s absolutely no evidence of wear or damage to the practice rounds. (Note: I took the advice of others and practice outside where the ejected rounds fall into the grass - folks say it’s best to keep them from falling to the floor or hard surfaces; that makes sense.

Not for semi-autos
I'm sure these are fine for standard racking shotguns, but they will not work reliably in semi-automatics. Kudos to the seller for quick shipping and a great price. *EDIT* for additional info The seller contacted me shortly after this review and offered to send me a different set to try in the weapon. Shells that are 'low brass' and might cycle better in the weapon. And, to a point, they did, but there were still jams more often than I'd like. Which tells me the gun needs to be actually fired and bedded in to 'loosen' everything up. So, a thumbs up for customer service and communication from B's - I would heartily recommend their services to anyone looking for snaps of any kind. For a weapon like mine.. a magazine loading semi-auto.. without actually firing the weapon to loosen it up, these snaps are literally hit or miss.

Excellent practice shell
These weigh the almost the same as 1-1/8oz shells, are very well made and consistent, I purchased to practice loading for 3-gun. I would have given 5 stars if something were printed on the shell indicating dummy or practice round. These are expensive but i have purchased the cheap ones and they are unrealistic, too lite and crack. Old saying cry now or cry later, just buy the good ones.

Best Snap Caps Out There
These are the best snap caps I've found: They are extremely well made and have a weight and balance that is essentially indistinguishable from live ammunition. That makes them much more realistic than competing products for practicing loading/unloading drills, testing clambering and ejection, etc. On the range they can be mixed with live ammunition to simulate misfires and practice proper clearing. They also can be used to train against anticipatory twitching and bad trigger handling. This brand is the only one I recommend to friends. (I've had various of the cheap/light-weight ones out there and they are not only totally unrealistic for drills, they can cause real problems with chambering and ejection -- guns aren't made for featherweight ammunition.)
