William Scott's "Amazon Echo Dot Essential User Guide" will definitely help you get the most out of your Echo Dot device.
I recently purchased “Amazon Echo Dot: Essential User Guide for Echo Dot and Alexa: Beginner to Pro in 60 Minutes, Kindle Edition” by William Scott (shortened to “Essential Dot User Guide – Scott” for this review) because I wanted more detailed information about my new Echo Dot device than was provided by the rather sparse manual that came with the device. This book is just what I was looking for. It is an outstanding manual that is filled with essential information about the Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Generation) device and the Alexa digital assistant software that drives it.Scott includes chapters on the basics of how to use the Echo Dot for a variety of purposes, including listening to music, ordering items online, and many other operations. Scott begins by giving readers clear and easy understandable tips on how to set up the device. He then shows how to voice-train it, and then provides a guide to the most frequently used commands. He also provides a comprehensive list of Alexa’s “Easter Eggs.”Once the basics are covered, the “Essential Dot User Guide – Scott” gives essential guidance for some of more advanced operations that the Dot can perform, including using the Echo Dot as a smart home hub; integrating the device with IFTTT; and launching a host of add-on Alexa skills that can dramatically expand the Dot’s capabilities.I think William Scott’s “Amazon Echo Dot: Essential User Guide for Echo Dot and Alexa: Beginner to Pro in 60 Minutes, Kindle Edition” is essential if you own an Amazon Echo Dot It will unquestionably help you get a lot more out of this amazing device. Highly recommended.

All the info I needed to get started!
I got a dot for myself, but was unsure what it was capable of. This book is concise and directions for programming the dot are clear and easy to understand. Well worth the price!

It's MEH
Most of the book I already found out thru searching. This book is more for real beginners. Someone who doesn't know technology. I did find a few things that i hardly tried but that wasn't the books fault.

Fun! But set up was a little hard for me...
A lot of fun, but I’m 65 and had to order the book on how to resolve connection issues and stuff - well worth the book so I know all it can do. If your lonely, this is a cool thing to have! ‘ Alexi, play jazz please’; Alexi, what’s the weather today’, Alexi, tell me a joke.... endless!

Mr Scott should've sprung for an editor
The book is a decent intro to the Amazon Dot, and the Kindle price is right, but the writing is truly awful (and sort of distracting). If you're going to charge for a book, you should either be a capable writer, or hire someone to make necessary corrections.
