This is a brilliant product. Much better than trunking lid which bends too easily. Also better than rods and easier to keep in your tool bag. Can be used under floor boards and to pull cables through skillins. It takes a little patience to get it flat and ideally I would store it in a pipe tube if I had one on my van.Several times I've used it I've been able pull a cable straight away when using other methods could take 20 minutes of patient effort.

Very good!
Bit pricey but it saved my bacon when threading cables through a dry-lined wall! I would recommend taping the cable onto the end it works either way from the top or the bottom and is sturdy enough to find a gap if you have insulation material in the cavity.

when it comes good it really comes good
This product is incredible in certain situations, when it comes good it really comes good!! Its dug me out of more holes than I can now remember. There are times it isn't suitable for the job but I find rods usually do the trick in those instances. As an electrician I like anything that makes life easier at work and this does so like none of my other tools. I can see from some of the other reviews that people have not had the same success rate as me but it just takes a certain nack when using it. I struggled a bit to begin with but once you get the feel for it you can send through places you would never have expected it to go through and get that oh so satisfying feeling as so see it pop out at the other end of the wall against all odds. The only reason I'm holding back a star is because it needs replacing more often than I'm happy with. Once it's kinked in a few places it really hinders its abilities so I'm buying it more often than I'd like but that said it doesn't cost the earth and I wouldn't be without one.

As said by other tradespeople this item is handy to have in your kit. Also mentioned by other reviewers its quite stiff and recoil's alot-so I opened the package and wound it back up in the opposite direction then clamped it using an adjustable zip-tie then left it for a day.Now its not so prone to coiling up and its a lot more usable.I/we have pulled a load of cables through partition walls and ceilings, some full of insulation, its been a lifesaver so thumbs up from me!

Nice but quality…
Nice product, very useful for cable fishing. I’m just disappointed with the product strength/quality. Our tongue broke at the end of 30cm.

This thing is great. You need to flatten it out first or it'll just curl up under the floorboards (as other reviewers have encountered) My tip for this is curl it up in reverse overnight. Then, take it and lie it as flat is you reasonably can and use a heatgun/hair dryer to make it fully flatten. Once cooled it will retain this shape so long as you store it flat. For snaking cables it's great. I ran a network cable under a laminate floor from one room, round a corner into a hallway and along into another room with just a 10mm hole drilled in the floor and one floorboard up in the destination room. Ordinarily this would be a bear of a job snaking past gas pipes and through sleeper walls but this made it easy. Some have said a length of 2.5mm twin & earth will achieve the same, I've used this method many times over the years and what you find is once the twin & earth hits a snag/obstacle it just bends. This cable 'tongue' has enough rigidity and spring to it that you can simply shimmy and jiggle it through/past most tricky obstacles.

Great for fishing. No you don’t need bait.
I see lots of people saying it’s hard too use or coils up too tight.... it’s coiled up like this for ease of packaging. When you receive it either coil it back the opposite way and leave the coil MUCH bigger or put it into a pipe on top of the van (if you have one) this will keep it straight. These are great because unlike rods there is a decent amount of flex and you can also bend the product to your desires shape, all whilst remaining stiff enough to push past obstructions. The best part is you won’t get those horrible fibreglass splinters using this. It will last far longer than rods also.

Real electricians don't need this
Thought this might come in handy for fishing cables, but if I'm honest its useless and just doesn't do what you need it to. And because it's coiled it just rolls up in the wall/ceiling.Genuinely the old off cut of cable trick that's done the job for me for almost 20 years works better.
