Bestop 17212-01 EZ Roll Truck Tonneau Cover for Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra, 5.8' Bed, (new body style only), 2007-2013

I have ordered a lot of products from Amazon and have never had an issue until I ordered this product. To be honest, I have never heard for Bestop and I was a bit skeptical due to the very low cost, but I thought what the heck...Amazon wouldn't sell something that was inferior, right?. I received this product and installed it today. After installation, I realized that the cover wasn't sealing properly due to high tension (which is what I thought). After loosening the tension to no tension at all, the cover still wouldn't seal properly in the rear. After some short investigation, I discovered that there is a flaw in the design because the locking bars were only locking on one side and were permitted to pivot in the rear. In addition to the poor locking bracket design, the release pin also broke the first time I tried to open the cover. I returned this product and ordered the truxedo truxport because the rear latching mechanism appeared to be more robust. My recommendation is to not order this product. My larger gripe is that I now have to wait 2 more days for the new tonneau cover to get here.7-17-13 ***Edit*** The Truxedo Truxport arrived today. Installation was a cinch, the fit is perfect, seals great, looks great. Additionally, where the bestop failed in design, this tonneau cover excels in. I would recommend buying the Truxedo in lieu of the bestop.

I really loved this when I first got it, and am surprised I didn't give it a 5 star review then.It was packaged well, and super easy to install. I did it in my driveway in the evening with only an outside light. It was that easy.However, I always felt it should have sealed tighter on the front and rear of the bed. A lot of air comes under it. It was only a few months that I noticed going down the highway, the rear latch would consistently pop up if I was going over 75 mph. I contacted Bestop and they sent me a replacement latch right away.Many months later, I was driving again down the highway on a bitter cold night, and it was very windy. The latch again popped open, but this time the whole cover came up and started flapping. That is kind of unnerving on a dark night on the interstate. I was able to pull over, and roll it up before going on down the road.I put this on a Silverado, and on that model, the rear of the cover only attaches with a single latch on the drivers side. I don't know if it would have made a difference if it had latched on both sides. I think some applications do come with dual latches.

Pros: Easy to install, good quality linerCons: only has a single latch on back left side. Its plastic instead of metal and can come undone and allow the back of the liner to pop up a little on the interstate. Had to put penny's in the gap on my first trip to keep it from happening.Amazon customer service was great in offering a refund and to pay for shipping back. However, after I let the cover really break in everything has been good and decided to keep it.

I was looking into different options and choose this that looked very good, it is good, some issues when you place it and take it off, but looks good and is nice, took us a little extra to install, and wasn't as easy as it looked.

I must say I was scared, I actually did buy this used. This is a great cover, easy to roll away and you still get the full length of the bed. I like that the support bars roll up with it. I'm hoping it holds up well to the snow in the winter. I have taken it through an automatic car wash and the bed was left completely dry. Highly recommend it!

Installed easy on 2013 sivlerado and have had this on my truck for only 3 months. I've had other brands to compare other trucks. However, the cover constantly popped open traveling at highway speeds. Eventually the plastic locking mechanism broke. It does not have a built to last design. I am very disappointed in this product. I am tearing the unit off and its going to a landfill.

Easy enough to install but I bumped one of the cross braces while putting something in the bed an the snap ripped out

This is a nice tonneau cover at a nice price.Installation was fairly easy however the directions could be more thorough. Just leave the clamps somewhat lose so you can shift or slide the rails to get the cover just right. If you unroll the cover and snap it into place and it's to tight you will have to sit on the corner by the release latch to take pressure of the latch, then it will release. If that happens you'll have to take tension off of the Allan head bolts on the rails until you can unlatch it with the little pull cord. This will all make more sense when you're actually installing it.The cover seems very sturdy and it has kept the box of my truck dry during the 12 hour torrential downpour we've just had.EDIT#### IT's been 7 months since I bought my cover and the plastic lock that keeps the cover locked in place has broken... I'm trying to find replacement parts but it's proving to be difficult.... This has reduced my rating to 3 stars.
