I purchased this to validate my custom built continuous exchange dripping water system for freshwater aquarium. I compared the readings with laboratory class instrument and the reading are very accurate per product specification. This product allows me not only validate the quality of water I use for my aquarium tanks, but also allowed me to realize how over chlorinated tap water is in my community , over 5ppm which is 25% above FDA recommended levels for US. I also can check and validate how household under the sink active carbon based water filter works and even whether bottled water is worth buying. This instruments reduced the risk of chlorine poisoning by making my family aware of what we drink. Highly recommended and easy to use.

Serves our purpose and has been working great

The requirement of using a reagent tablet to test the water every single time, makes this unit far less convenient than I had hoped for. When trying to hit a certain level of chlorine in your water and changing by small increments having to test every single time with a reagent tablet becomes excessive. Other than that the unit seems to function as expected.

easy to use but annoying with use of the tabs, although, I understand it's needed to get a reading. that's just how it works. would like a certificate of calibration and no luck with contacting the vendor.

It's a very important product to use it in an Hemodialysis Clinic where you have to control the quality of your free of Chlorine pure water for hemodialysis in the Water Treatment Plant. it's a tool that you have to have everyday. For me it's one of the most important mini tools to take reads of my quality water though it I can save a lot of money because I don't have to send my water samples every day. It's very practial and the best of all prove of water and calibrable.

Need to return this item. Not working properly. Unstable results. Need a refund.

Simple, easy to use and it works. We use it twice a week for a small water district to satisfy state requirements. Been using it since Nov. with no problems. If it is new or not used for awhile ignore the first reading as it will be inacurate. This is mentioned in the instructions. I showed my wife how to use it once and haven't had to use it since, so it gets 5 stars!

This is a very useful and seemingly accurate unit, but if you haven't done the research it is not clear from the description above that you have to use a reagent tablet for each test (there are only 50 supplied, hence 4/5). You dissolve the tablet in 20ml of test sample, insert the probe, stir and wait for the result. Clean, quick and accurate. A further 1000 reagent tablets costs about £100 from various resellers.

Failed after 3 months. Useless support from both Amazon and FLIR (Extech). Shows an error that is not documented in the troubleshooting guide. Cannot find out where to send for repair of replacement.

Not accurate readings. Chlorine levels are all over the place
