Who needs gussets on mylar bags
Saw something similar on a YouTube video, but that guy sends you to a polycarbonate scooper. I want stainless steel! When I saw this, with handles on both sides, I knew it’s what “the doctor ordered.” (It’s a saying, I’m not a doctor or professional anything). I have a HarvestRight freeze dryer, it came with 50 mylar bags that are hard to hold onto or keep open to fill. At first I thought I’d buy some mylar bags with a gusset, and look into this guy’s product that makes filling a gusseted bag real easy… but then I thought “Why do that? I’ll still have these un-gusseted bags.” That’s when I saw another fellow using one of these scoops. They’re advertised as ‘popcorn’ or ‘french fries’ scoop, but they’re versatile for scooping just about anything. They fit right inside the Mylar bag and hold it open while using! Makes filling the bags that much easier.And it’s stainless steel, dishwasher safe and easy to quickly scoop food up.There are a lot of commercial uses with hot foods, but I’m just a residential guy looking to preserve my food for years, and this scoop makes my life easier and is much less expensive than the alternative I eluded to. High recommendation!

Bagging cut up items
This can be used for many things besides fast Through drive and spirit we use it to cut up our vegetables and use the scoop part to pour it into baggy's. It works outstanding.

Does not fit freeze dry trays
I like it, it is well made and great for other applications just had to modify it for my use.

Sturdy but a bit awkward
Metal is noisy. Would be better without openings on the sides which inhibits smooth flow of product.
