Good Value
VEVOR engraving vise (pin vise): My unit arrived with a GRS logo on a plastic button next to the jaws. Not being familiar with GRS equipment, I won't comment on workmanship except to say that this vise seemed to be well machined and assembled with very good satin-chrome and polished-chrome finish, and no burrs or marks. All accessory tooling fit as was intended and the action of the jaws was as smooth as can be expected. There was some catch and rub when rotating the upper half of the ball but because the entire ball may be rotated to any angle on the (nylon? delrin?) base, I don't consider that to be important. In use the two halves will be locked together. One of the features which I appreciate about the product is the set of tapped holes in the jaws and the cap screws to fit them included with the unit. You can create your own specialized jigs of wood, plastic, aluminum, etc. for whatever you work on. There are a couple of low-temp, moldable, reusable plastic products which are sold for this purpose. This device is heavy enough (around four pounds) that it will be stable for light assembly and glue jobs by itself; and there's an even heavier version available. If I were a professional engraver, things I would ask for would be the ability to lock the ball in position on the base and to screw the base to a work table. The rotatable upper half-ball would then make more sense to me. As it is though, the product is useful for anyone having to hold small and/or delicate items while working on them; and at its price point, good value.

Bang for your buck
I’ve used for a while now. It does what I want it to. It is not as well made as GRS by far, but it is a fraction of the price as well. The pins are all loose in the holes. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be able to use this way. However, when placing the pins correctly around the piece you’re doing, and adjusting the vises tightness to the piece you’re working on, it works and holds the piece just fine.I also cut some small dowels to use if needed, that are the hole size, but have not needed to use them.I did about 80 flush sets and did not have any problems at all with this vise.I especially like how it rotates in every direction to allow better ergonomics on my hands, wrist, neck, etc.

Great for small items
This is a great bench vise for the hobbies or jewelry makers. Many ways to secure a small item so it can be worked on. Good value and quality. Very adjustable.

Dont bother
Theirs a reason why it's cheaper and that's because it's cheaply made. Arrived in 1 day, packed well. Knew right away this wasn't for precision work. Holes to hold attachments were rusted, I thought ok I can clean that up. Tried the screw in holders and they just grabbed and wouldn't go any further I knew if I used the allen wrench either the screw or the hole threads would strip. I then tried the other accessories, they didn't fit well and wobbled way too much, the jaws also wobbled. It did spin ok but when adjusting the brake it would not hold and kept loosening up. Might be a good buy if your just messing around but for precision work it just doesn't cut it. I'm sending it back tomorrow and will spend the money for a professional block, you get what you pay for.

Great customer service but...
Upon receipt the plastic base was broken. Their customer service was quick to respond & received a complete vise set replacement within a couple of weeks. Only problem was the second base had a large crack. I was able to glue a repair. The device is serviceable.

Poor quality. You are not going to use it for serious jewelry work.
The Vevor 3 is a poor quality imitation of real engraving block ball vices. While it works for general engraving you may do once in a blue moon, it's not appropriate for real jewelry work. It works though for wood carving, that's why I gave it 2 stars.Problems: the tolerances of all parts are simply too big and all moving parts have way too much wiggle room - the two sliding chucks of the vice have about 3mm play at the top, making the kit lacking precision. The holes are threaded while all the pins are smooth, and again, the tolerances are too big; the pins wiggle and when you start engraving, the vibrations of the hammer will gradually push up the piece - in the picture shown with a piece of 20-gauge silver that kept escaping the various pin combination because of this. Conclusion: don't waste your money unless you use it for wood carving. For jewelry and in general for metal engraving, save some more and buy proper equipment.L.E. Following my comment here, the Seller offered to reimburse me for the purchase as it doesn't qualify for my intended use. I did get the money back, showing the Seller is serious about its business. Kudos to you guys.

Definitely worth the money!
I have used this more than a few times now and have to say that while it might not be the EXTREMELY expensive name brand, it does a pretty admirable job for the price. I will need to adapt a few work arounds for some of the tools that it doesn't have, but it has really come in handy! It has a substantial weight and I am still discovering all the things it can help with. I have had to look up some videos about the name brand so that I have a better understanding of all the things it should help with and have found that to be the easiest way to sort out it's pro's and cons. I will need to adapt a clamp bar that I can embed a ring into for pave' work .Overall very happy with my purchase.
