I'm using these to make vanila extract. Simple, just cut these uot, put them in a bottle of cheap vodka and a few month later you have as much extract as you could ever use. AND, it's the good stuff!!!

I purchased these beans because of the reviews I had read and of course the better price of the beans. upon opening the package I could already smell the vanilla. I prepared the beans and placed them in the jar with in 30 minutes of getting the beans. I wanted fresh as possible and did not want to lose any moister from the beans.With in a few hours of cutting the beans open and putting them in the Vodka, The vodka was already turning a brown color and the smell was very nice. I am now on day 6 and the extract is getting stronger and better. But until the 60 days is up I can not say how it will turn out after baking with this extract. The picture makes it look red because of the light hitting it. But beautiful anyway

I bought these to make homemade vanilla extract. The package held more than I thought so even more vanilla extract will be made. The beans have a great scent and the inside is rich and flavorful.

I use these for making my own vanilla. Even in a air tight package, I find that if I wait too long to use it (I forgot them in the cabinet for 6 months), the beans can become a little dry. For me, that's not a concern when making vanilla. It still turns out fantastic. This is my fault because the newer package I had were still moist and perfect for cutting out the vanilla beans for baking. Just a caution of user error.
