It is a decent budget flash
I had a Nikon SB-600 but it pooped out on me and I do not have the budget to go out and spend $400 on a new one. So, I did some research and found that this unit received decent reviews on B&H Photo and Video's website. As many have noted, this unit does appear to be underpowered. It is not as feature rich and functional as my old SB-600 but, it is the best option I have found for a budget tilt/swivel flash unit. It will do the trick until I can get a proper unit.

Cheap yes, value maybe, specs not even close
Bought this flash based on price and hoping the specs could be close. Figured it could be a best buy value at the price, but not even close. I will be returning shortly. I have a nikon SB-800 and the sigma EFDG530super to compare with, both with similar specs for 3x to 4x the price. The Bower flash is less than half the output advertised. If you are looking for a flash in this price range, it may be a value, but I was not buying on price I was looking at high guide number; if you are looking at the specifications, the guide number stated is roughly 2x actual (12 feet 50mm 200iso f5.6 compared to the others, more like 3x) better look elsewhere and pay more. Like they say (for a reason) you get what you pay for, this sure proves it. The flash is the same size as the others I have, lighter, and works auto so no setting of stuff with a nikon, and actually worked remote with a Radio Popper Jr remote, adjusted output and everything. Two stars, for working and cheap!

Bounce Doesn't Work
The main reason I got the flash is for bouncing light off of white ceilings to get diffused lighting. The TTL metering doen't seem to work for bounced flash - all the shots are too dark. I have to admit, neither my Nikon D7000 or my Fuji S5 Pro were on the list of compatible cameras. I should have spent the money for a low end Nikon flash.

cheap
this has broke already and you definitely get what you pay for. the hundreds of dollars it takes for a decent flash is way more worth it rather than having it stop working abruptly in the middle of photographing and ending up as a paper weight.

Worst TTL flash I've ever tried.
ProsNoneSadly there's nothing positive I can say about the unit.ConsThe TTL function doesn't work. Images come out over exposed, even when you try to compensate for the over exposure. The flash is hard to mount onto the camera.Built quality is weak, battery latch is flimsy and can break with ease.Luckily I contacted Amazon and returned the item for a refund.I wasn't expecting a great flash, but just a unit that could perform ok and provide the needed light incase my main unit dies. But this flash was totally useless.
