2x4basics 90118MI Custom Shelving and Storage System Shelflinks, Sand, 6 Pack

WOW .... ordered my 2nd set to these shelf assembly assistants (LOL) ... I have built 2 large plant shelving units - top and bottom shelf 4 foot legs and 6 feet in length. Very simple to use (I am a 60+ Y/O woman) and very sturdy. When we had a hurricane here last fall (South FL) I easily moved the shelf with the assistance of a small dolly. LOVE this product. Highly recommend. I am going to order more to construct a workbench/shelf in my garage.

We put these around the edges of our storage garage and they work great. The were easy to install and they lend themselves to easily customize the height of shelf you need in different spaces, like a taller area for golf clubs. The only thing we wish is that there was some kind of corner piece so you don't have an empty corner. We made our own corner pieces from wood so we didn't lose that space but it would have been nice to have corner brackets.

I started out buying 1 black set just to try them out ... I have a couple of large roll-away litter boxes in my home office and the only thing I don't like about them is they take up a lot of space. I used the black Shelf Links to make a 5'-wide, 2'-high, 3-legged unit to place above the litter boxes so I could stack a bunch of modular units (photo to come!). (Note, since the unit was 5 feet wide, I really didn't need to include a center support, but I knew I would have a lot of really heavy stuff on top so I figured "better safe than sorry," excuse the cliche!)That shelving worked so well that I bought more and built a unit for the garage -- 9' wide with a lower section that holds tools etc. (just like one of the 2x4 "official" photos).THAT worked so well that I bought more. By then the black ones were temporarily unavailable from amazon (as they are now) with only 1 third-party seller who is price-gouging, so I bought some sand ones instead. We used those to build basement shelving -- three 8'-wide, 6.5'-high units set up in a U-shaped configuration. (SEE CUSTOMER PHOTOS PLEASE!) We're going to build some more shelving for the basement and probably more for the garage as well.What I like best about these is that they are forgiving. I am sure I have not been completely accurate in all the cuts etc. of the ones I have built by myself, but they still work fine and are VERY sturdy. I think you can be off by up to a quarter-inch in a lot of places and they will still be very strong.Very highly recommended!

I really like this system as long as 2x4s are good enough for you. Easy to assemble.The only issue is the screws. Unless you drill pilot holes in your regular fir 2x4 stud material, the provided screws are very, very difficult to put in. A lot more than they should be.We used different, self-tapping screws and it all went fine.With better screws and 30 min (because so many screws and trying to figure out height), this is a stellar product.Would buy again.

Just moved into a new home with a small garage. With space at a premium, I purchased several sets of these and was able to customize a storage system for the garage that makes great use of the space. The cost just can't be beat! Compared to other shelving systems, these may require a bit more cutting and such, but the durability, customizability, and expense make this an easy choice.

These units make shelving sturdy and easy...and at any length you like. They are also better visually than just screwing 2x4's together. Another nice thing is that they are de-constructable without damage...change you mind, location or design? Just remove the screws and you're back to square one again. Very simple.If you can justify the cost, these are very good units. Well thought out and the build is good.

Best shelving for the $$$ on the market today. Don't waste your time on any other shelf. These are custom design to what you want and need. Simple and easy to assemble. My son saw my design and wanted me to help him organize his basement. There should be 10 stars for this item, it's that good!!

I suspect the best sized boards for these adapters/brackets is rough sewn boards. The standard 2X4 boards are much smaller than board insertion points are. There is ⅜" extra space, but the brackets work well. I used an air stapler to attach the boards and that worked very well.
