Great value, easy setup, universal for all devices!
This is probably one of the most budget friendly options for a wireless mic transmitter/receiver setup you will find anywhere. That being said, it's still an extremely good buy. Setup and use is extremely easy, turn it on, plug it in and you're done. For those of you who aren't sure of how to use this with your computer/phone/tablet - this does not pair wirelessly, nor does it plug it with the USB port for audio transfer. You need to plug this into a 1/4" TRS or 1/8" mic jack to use this. If your chosen device does not have that jack, you can buy an adapter or search for a "usb sound card." Now that that's out of the way. The sound quality is surprisingly good, even with the included microphone (I'm assuming it is better with a higher quality microphone but sadly, i did not have one to test it with). After recording the video review, I did notice that the hiss pretty much disappeared when I moved the receiver away from my tripod. I think the aluminum tripod acted like a bit of an antenna for interference. The sound is actually more than adequate, and especially considering the price you're paying. Overall, I'd highly recommend this for someone who is trying to record videos/audio for pretty much anything except if you're recording an album in a studio. Good job Hotec, and amazing value for the price!

Terrific product and value for the price
I read the reviews and was still skeptical given the price, but bit the bullet and have been very pleased. I'm using the headset mic live onstage, for a special part of our band's performance where I sit in front of the crowd for a few songs. I'm not able to get it as loud as a regular live mic and still avoid feedback, but frankly I didn't think it would work at hardly any volume without substantial feedback, and yet it does. The sound is amazingly good when you factor in the price, the charging and operations are easy and straightforward. and it's now worked solidly for three gigs and I figure that's now enough to have shaken down any issues. Very pleased thus far.

For the price, it's hard to beat. Perfect? No.
Bought this to record narration to a live PowerPoint presentation with an audience that needed to then be turned into a video for those who couldn't attend. Did not need (and was not expecting) top professional quality. This got the job done very well! My review is limited to how I used it. PROS: --You can go pretty far from the receiver and it picks it up just fine. Great for large room. --The mic connector screws onto the transmitter mount so that it doesn't pop out of the input hole. --The LEDs change color and tell you the status of the battery and connection. --Very easy to set up, didn't have to fiddle with any settings out of the box at all. Settings are very limited anyway. --Comes with great connectors and even a double charging cord for simultaneously charging the transmitter and receiver pack via a Y connector USB cable. --Charges fully in about 2 hours. CONS: --Is there some occasional scratchy noise from the mic as others reviewed? Yes, if you move a lot or touch the mic or cord a lot of course there will be some brushing sounds/static picked up on the recording. Was this a deal breaker for me? No. --Could the batteries last longer? Yes of course. You can overcome that easily by attaching a small cell phone battery charging pack to either or both the the transmitter and receiver. Probably get a whole day out of it then. Think creatively. It will operates and recharge simultaneously. I went about 6 hours without any interruption by slipping a charger into my pocket and attaching it to the transmitter pack charge port. --The clip could be better; it's not spring activated so you have to shimmy the plastic hook onto your pocket or waist band. Eventually it will break off I bet with rough or sustained usage. But once it's on, it stays put unless you are doing jumping jacks. VERDICT: For the value, purpose stated, and infrequency that I need to use it, it's hard to beat the price for this little unit that also comes with a bunch of great adapters and cables. Overall the product is well engineered and built for what it is intended and priced. Note: Did not try the headset feature. Also works well recording to your Android cell phone or tablet recording app if you have the 3.5mm input (some devices eliminated the jacks as "old school" tech in favor of bluetooth). Not tested with Lightning or Apple.

Good Mic, important note on how to use
I bought this mic to record online lectures and it served its purpose well. Both the receiver and the mic charge very fast and the battery lasts for a couple of hours. Battery indicators tell you when the battery is low. The microphone pack has a clip, so you can clip it, say, to your waistband. Or you can just put it in your pocket. I did not use it with the headset but with the little lapel microphone clip, which is very subtle and stayed on my collar really well. You can adjust the volume on the microphone pack. Now, this is important: if you use the adapter to plug the receiver into your laptop or phone, you have to attach a set of headphones to the headphone port. If you only attach the microphone to the mic port and do nothing else, it will not record. I found this out by looking around on Youtube. Apparently, your device expects there to be both a mic and headphones, so it won't work unless you plug in both!!! Once I plugged in both mic and a set of headphones, my phone automatically recorded from the external mic. However, for some reason, I was unable to get it to work on my Macbook. Not sure what the problem was there. My phone is an Android. The sound quality is good enough for my purposes. I noticed that if I turned the volume on the mic all the way up, I got some distortion in the recording when I was speaking loudly. I used the volume level 12, which gave me a good audio. The resulting video has a decently loud and clear audio. Background noise (such as a plane flying by or a dog barking) is audible, though, so make sure you record in a quiet environment. Finally, let me just say that I enjoy the design of the microphone. It's small and sleek. I don't know if you care about such things, but I always like when my electronics look nice.

Stopped working after six weeks
The mic worked ok for about six weeks. Then it just stopped. It charges and the mic and receiver turn on, but that’s it. No sound at all. I reached out to the company but received no reply. After only six weeks I would expect a replacement or a refund. Especially if it has a one year warranty what good is a warranty if the company ignores their customers. I will update if they get back to me. Update: They got back to me with instructions how to fix it. It is working now. Hopefully this will do it.

Allows you to have freedom of movement without being tied to a microphone on the stand
Bought this to use in church because I'm a pastor and I am quite pleased with the performance. I did not expect it to be so good at such a low price but it is absolutely a must have if your speaker and you want to be able to move around

It only worked once
I tried this with my Galaxy S9+, GoPro Hero7 and computer. It didn't work with anything. It did work with my phone one time. But it never worked again. As best I can tell, the problem is with the connector jacks. First, they just feel really cheap and flimsy. When you plug one of the wires into them they're very loosey-goosey and you're never sure if they're solidly connected. Since I had the one successful attempt on my S9, I kept fiddling around with it and did about ten more tries. ALL of them were completely silent except one other. The only other video that I could get audio out of when this was plugged into my phone - all I got was a little scratchy sound as I twisted the male jack back and forth in the female socket. As I was twisting it I got a very scratchy sound and could hear my voice a bit (barely). But when I stopped messing around with it the sound was gone again. The bottom line is this - sure, maybe you'd be able to get it to work here and there. BUT... you'll never know if it worked until after you finish making your recording. It's so unreliable you'll have no way of knowing except by listening after you've made each recording. So, who is going to sit there and make any video of any length, 1, 2, 5, 10 minutes or more without having some way of knowing if it's picking up your audio until after you're done! Sorry, Hotec, but I need something far more reliable than that. I'm not going to risk wasting my time on even a quick 30-second video when I can't know for sure it's picking up the audio. Oh, and don't bother responding to this 1-star review, like you have to all the others. I don't need to know your support people will be happy to help me out. There's actually nothing they can do because your product is so cheaply made and flawed. No amount of support can fix that. So, please don't waste their time... not on my behalf anyway.

Amazing!!!!
This wireless mic is GREAT. I would give it 10 stars if I could. It's clear, picks up great, sounds really good. I do like the sound of the headset mic a lot better than the lapel mic (just seems to pick up better due to it's proximity to your mouth). Earlier this year I purchased a true diversity wireless rack mount system but I needed something battery powered for wedding locations without power - I think this $30 product performs better!! I highly recommend this system. BTW - I'm using it with an Ion Block Rocker that has a 1/4" mic input (I can control the volume remotely with the app).
