Creative Bead Weaving: A Contemporary Guide To Classic Off-Loom Stitches

Mostly things I would never make. Gives basic stitch instructions and variations. Pictures are of purses, basket tops, baskets, nude angel, some jewelry, jar covers, figurines, collars, sculptures, vegetables, etc made out of beads. Would have liked practical items. Just not my cup of tea.

If beaded naked (pubic hair and all) angels are your taste you are in for a treat with this book. Very much geared towards the "arty" type people. I guess I'm not in that group. I'm not offened by what's presented just not my taste. It does however have a couple more mainstream projects that I liked so for the money it wasn't a waste. If I had paid full price I don't think I would have been very happy.

I am so pleased to have been able to purchase this classic book through Amazon, although it has been discontinued for some years. When I first started beadweaving about 10 yrs ago, it would have been a valuable resource for clear illustrations of the stitch path for the basic stitches....and an inspiration guide. Now that I have the basics somewhat mastered, I am using it at least once a week for inspiration, and for the "step further" pieces it provides. For example....I looked EVERYwhere for a well written and attractive explanation of peyote ruffle edging...and here it finally is.If you are a beginner to these tiny little beads...buy it. It will provide you a firm foundation.If you are not a beginner...buy it anyway. You will never regret it.

Lovely patterns in this book. I have not made any of them yet, but the directions I have read through, are very easy to follow.

Even though styles have changed and new two-hole (or more) beads have come to the market this classic of bead weaving should be in your collection. Clear instructions with great diagrams make all weaves possible for everyone.

Purchased for my wife after she used this in a beading class. She tells me the content is excellent and she has made several things already based on the books instructions and designs.This was a used book but in excellent condition. Shipping was prompt and packaging appropriate for the product. The wife is happy, and that is always a good thing!

This book is one of the best beading books I have seen. It teaches several different stitches in precise, detailed, and easy to follow directions. It also has very beautiful projects to do that allow you to practice what you have learned. I have already learned a great deal by using this book, and I have just started to work through the material. It is a very informative book, for use by beaders of all levels. The projects alone make this book worth the money.

This book contains most of the beadweaving techniques that I've ever heard about as well as how to combine stitches. While I would call it a reference book, for the most part, it has lots of projects as well. I haven't made any of the projects to date but think the instructions are excellent. If you need to know how to switch stitches in your off-loom work.........you won't be unhappy if you purchase this book.

I guess I wanted something more from this book. There are beautiful photos, but mostly this is just a book with a breakdown of how to make basic stitches. I just had hoped for more jewelry projects. These projects are more for beaded purses and other things like that. I had hoped for earrings and bracelets and necklaces.

Great complex idea book. A bit beyond my capabilities. But beautiful colour inspiration.

Disappointing that the book was practically detached from its cover. Book useful though.

Looks quite aged but some fantastic tips and instructions for basics

Most excellent book with clear to follow instruction. This book is ideal for a self taught person. I strongly recommend it to all who are apt to teach themselves. All that I had wanted.
