Does this actually help retain color better? I have dark red/plum hair

Yes, I have blonde and ruby red hair and this is all I use and I wash hair in cool or cold water. This is an amazing product. And it smells like heaven.

Could someone please describe the texture and how the product is supposed to look? Like is the shampoo supposed to look clear, like hand sanitizer?

Yes, it starts out clear. When putting in your hair when you shower add lots of water to it. I have long hair so I usually put a dollar (coin, comparing) in my palm. Put in my hair and add lots of water. Soon it will lather up and have lots of suds. The more water you add the more suds. My hair used to look brittle. I have used this for about 4 months now. I'm amazed. I've always used pantene, but had to make a change. So my hair is much better. I also use the detangler, milk leave in conditioner. And let my hair dry. I hope this helps. I use the rose water, and the gold bottle. They work the same way. Just different sence.

Why are so many reviews for this rose water product mentioning charcoal? I don't see that anywhere in the ingredients.
