Rit Dye gave me the color I really wanted and couldn't find anywhere else.
I wanted a sweatshirt in a light turquoise and none in that color were available anywhere. I decided to take a try at fabric dying. It turned out to be pretty easy. A bit messy but the end result was worth it. The bottle of Rit, when mixed with water, made enough that I also did a couple of white towels and washcloths. Preparing by having the area where you'll be working is really important. This is permanent color so splatter and spills are to be avoided.. Also, have something you can use for stirring the garment into the dye that won't absorb color. The longer it sits in the dye the deeper the color, but will dry lighter than it looks wet. Overall this was a fun project and I will do it again. I found out you can mix colors too but that will have to wait for another time.

Dying shoes to match my dress
This was the perfect color to dye a pair offshore ton match my dress… but because of the material the shoes were made of I had to put it on and let it dry… no rinsing… then it was perfect

Perfect Hues
This worked perfect for what I needed it for. It didn't turn the color I was expecting, but that was because the type of fabric it was. I also used this on a linen skirt and it came out the purple/lilac color that's on the bottle. The dress pictured was also purchased from Amazon and it came out more of a pink color rather than a purple color.

Follow instructions for 100% cotton jumper, color came out very light
Overall it’s a good product, I’m not sure about the color accuracy though…maybe there’s a trick to make it darker I don’t know about. I used a whole bottle of this stuff (in Cocoa Brown) on a white Levi’s jumpsuit (100% cotton) and a cotton shirt. During the dying process, it was a deep warm, reddish brown and absolutely gorgeous, stirred it for about 12 minutes. I used the Color Stay product afterwards. Followed instructions to a t for both the dye and the color stay, yet it still turned out more of a dark pink / light maroon after washing. I still like it, but it’s definitely not deep brown.

Rich and Vivid Colors - Easy To DIY!
Rit dyes have come a long way since the old days. The liquid dyes are easy to use and the colors are rich and juicy! I decided to customize some inexpensive white kitchen linens (potholders, towels) to go with my fruit-colored kitchen and table. I'm pleased with how they turned out and how cheery and vivid the colors are.

Good Brand, Good Dye
These dyes always work well, sometimes you do have to apply it multiple times but that can be due to the fabric and existing dyes.
