Simple and helpful.
It must be noted the I am semi professional when it comes to fitting laminate type flooring.Having mulled over this device for a while I decided to take the plunge and buy it.Initially it took a little bit of experimenting to get used to how this device functions but it does work. The tool is spring loaded, with a wheel on the end which you run along the wall/skirting etc. There is a hole where you fit a round pencil in, it has a rubber o ring inside which holds the pencil by way of friction. The pencil is attached to a movable part, for which you set by the way of guides on the top of the tool and then lock it in place using "screw clamp". There is a "guide" which has a straight edge that you run along the edge of the laminate. The spring acts to keep the wheel end against the wall thus allowing the pencil part to move in a tracing action.I won't try to explain how the tool works in any detail as it is very hard to do so in words, you should watch the instructional video, but basically you use the notches on the top to set the "width" of the laminate, this will give you approximately a 10-15mm gap from the edge (wall/skirting etc). You then "trace" along the wall using the tool. Cutting along the traced line should give you a near perfect fit for the final end pieces. It does take a bit of practice to get the best out of this tool but once your used to it, it is definitely a big help when it comes to the last row cuts, especially on walls the have an uneven profile.I like to adjust the tool so that the gap from the edge left after cutting is less, approx 5mm. This has to be done manually, I usually move the pencil part by 10mm to achieve this. One thing that a long of people mention and leave negative reviews for is all about the pencil not having enough pressure to make a mark of the surface of the laminate. I do believe this is unfair as this is not a fault with the tool. Using common sense, most surfaces of laminates will not show pencil marks even with heavy pressure. To overcome this, I always use a run of wide white masking tape on top of the laminate, you then draw along this. Your pencil marks will then show perfectly and depending on the type of flooring your using, masking tape will often result in a cleaner cut too, especially if the finished surface chips easily.Overall, this tool works well with a bit of practice and I would recommend this tool.

free pencil a bonus
Did what it supposed to do. Good bit of kit. And you get a pencil.

Throw away the pencil... It's useless...
Bought this handy little gadget to mark out the troublesome final board of laminate accurately. It does the job very well but the supplied pencil is utterly useless at marking laminate. I used a kids felt tip marker which does the job brilliantly. I don't know why Wolfcraft doesn't just replace the pencil with something that actually works on laminate. Even their own YouTube instructional video has a guy using a marker & not the pencil supplied. The only negative remark about this genuinely useful little gadget.

Good idea, Terrible execution
The idea is good but the end product is hastily thought out and you get a pencil which is useless and leaves no visible mark, you can try a felt tip but the spring loaded mechanism and locking system will ensure you've a few cut lines to choose from as you try and hold the length of laminate down to take your measurement, save yourself the hassle of this and use an offcut from your laminate which works every time.
