Question about connecting Audio from the Computer
Hi Tim, thanks for your helpful review. I am trying to connect two of our church PC's to this switch and then to the projector. Both PC's have HDMI ports so i'm thinking i'll utilize the two "HDMI IN" ports on the switch instead of VGA Ports... after all, there is no VGA out, but i can see HDMI out.So from the reviews above it sounds like one cannot connect the audio from the PC to the switch and then from the switch to the soundboard, and therefore one has to connect audio directly from the PC to the soundboard?... is that the case? I am wondering coz we have two computers we need to get audio from... and i was hopping that connecting the two computers to the switch via the HDMI ports, would then give us one audio output to go directly to the soundboard. If this would be a limitaion, is there any other particular device u can advise getting instead of this one?And for your case, is there a specific cable u used to connect your PC directly to the soundboard to get audio? Thanks,Wisley.

Satisfaction Failure
This unit does provide the technical conversion between video formats, but at the cost of audio and video degradation.Originally, I bought this unit because my TV, like most new ones cheat the owner out of simultaneous Composite (R/W+Yellow) and Component (R/W+R/G/B), forcing you to double-use the Green as Yellow. Annoying failure of TV manufacturers and near impossible to overcome simply by "choosing" a different TV.Because I needed an HDMI port for this box, I had to run my Blu-Ray and DVD Recorder through it. Big mistake.- Video is always dim. User must manually set brightness every time you turn the thing on. It does not remember it. Video settings also compromise the visual quality.-Audio is almost muted. Yes this unit has a volume setting. With this unit set to 100% volume and my TV at 70% volume, it's still a whisper and at least with the 50 years of Bond collection, subtitles are required because you can't hear it. Running the same Blu-Ray player through the same TV directly blasts out the audio at only 20% volume.Video poor.Audio nonexistent.

I returned this item because it did not serve my purposes. I was hoping to use it with our projector to act as a live video switcher for events. I wanted to have it switching between cameras and computer slides. Unfortunately, every time I switched inputs, the projector would start cycling through looking for a source.

Died After 3 Years Of Light Use
Unit died after just three years of occasional use (used this unit to switch between two gaming consoles connected to one television).Works well, while it did work, then mysteriously died. For what Nyrius charges for their equipment, it should have better build quality than this.

Finally, an all in one solution
I had an older monitor in a drop down box. It went bad and we had to replace it with a new monitor, the wiring, however, all buried in the walls and ceiling, so I needed a one cord solution to hook up all of the components. This worked perfectly. I now have a DirecTV box, an XBox, and a Bose DVD player all hooked into this box, with only one slim HDMI cable going to the monitor. PERFECT! It was easy to install and works flawlessly. Nice design as well. Thanks for making an impossible situation very easy to remedy!

Good, but...
Seems to be a good unit, works as advertised and it doesn't feel cheap. One oversight is the lack of an audio input paired with the VGA input. Don't expect to switch your computer with this and get computer audio. Other than that - it seems pretty good

Excellent product. For novices and experts.
This is an excellent product that is ridiculously easy to set up and even easier to operate.I bought it for a friend of my mom's who doesn't speak Egnlish well and can't switch between sources on the TV without having a panic attack. Once I set this up, it was a no brainer. She's happy and I get no more phone calls.Easy to use remote is child's play.
