HAD TO ADD,ON TOP OF NEWER TOWER.TOWER GUTS ARE LAPTOP GUTS.
I LIKE THAT I COULD MOUNT A OPTICLE DRIVE ON TOP OF TOWER.NEW TOWERS,FROM LONOVO,ARE JUNK INSIDE.THEY PUT LAPTOP GUTS,IN THE NEW TOWER.CHEAP OPTICLE DRIVE,SO I MOUNTED ONE ON TOP THE DRIVE,AND USE THE CONVERTER,WITH POWER SUPPLY,AND USB.WORKS GREAT.

Found I had need of this adapter as I accumulated many computer devices and no compatible computers. Works great on a DVD disk drive.

This product allows us to recover important data from a fail hard drive

Stopped working after less than a month and runs VERY hot
I ordered 2 of these items. I only use them to back up my harddrive. They were used infrequently (about once every 2 weeks for less than 10 minutes. The power supply stopped working on 1 of these after less than a month. Also I noticed that both run VERY hot to the touch when operating.
