Great stand. The stand is sturdy and has a place for a weight if needed. There are 3 positions for the angle of the legs. It has the dual collar ( 90° and 360° ). The head is sturdy and uses friction plates. You can adjust the friction amount with the grey knobs and the black knobs are used to manually maneuver and lock in the position. There are 4 leveling bubbles, 1 one the stand and 3 on the head. The quick release plate that attaches to the camera and attaches to the stand fits tight with no wiggle room. This product came with, what looks to be, 1 factory quick release plate and two after market plates. The aftermarket plates are slightly heavier and look cheap but they also have a tight fit. See pictures. The stand did arrive 3 days late even with it having free PRIME 2 day shipping (not Amazon's fault, I blame USPS). The box also came beat up but nothing was damaged. I see this ALOT with usps. Amazon did work with me and was very helpful. Great customer service on Amazon's side

Pricey for an amateur, but so worth it! Very sturdy and easy to use/adjust.
I am an amateur photographer with a Nikon D5300 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS Body Only (Black) camera with Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED Vibration Reduction Zoom Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras and Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras lenses. Other than general photography for personal use (family, friends) I shoot interior pictures for a DIY blog. This tripod has made capturing the perfect shot for the blog so much easier for me! I can easily make minor adjustments to dial in the exact composition I am aiming for, then dial in the proper exposure, etc. to ensure the perfect shot.My 18-140 lens is pretty heavy, causing the camera to have a good deal of front-heavy nature. This Manfrotto tripod and head is plenty strong to hold the camera/lens and I am extremely impressed with the sturdiness & stability. I chose this particular Manfrotto, due to the built in RC2 adapter (what I've already invested in) and due to the bubble level built into BOTH the tripod as well as the head. Also, this head has friction adjustments as well as retractable levers which allow for easier storage and transportation.

"Grey Market" item not eligible for warranty because QR code is missing
Item appears to be of good quality and genuine, but it not eligible for the warranty because the QR code is missing. Upon contacting manufacturer, was told that this was a "grey market" product and it was suggested that I return it and purchase from an authorized dealer.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Tripod is a work of the machinist art. This is not a hiking or travel tripod, as it is heavy, but that's exactly what makes it a good tripod. No vibrations whatsoever. The entire tripod with the exception of the rubber grips is made of very sturdy metal, and the individual parts are perfectly machined so they slide smoothly against each other. Even the mounting plates are made of cast metal. The ability to go to a horizontal position is one of the deciding factors for my purchase, and allows great images for items lying on a table top. Great for E-bay or CL listing photographs. I love it, love it love it, and even though a bit on the high end side, think it's worth every penny I paid for it.

Great tripod but breaks easy
So far this is my favorite tripod. It’s study and strong. For someone shooting full frame with a big lens, sturdy is a must. So far I’ve purchased two. My main gripe is that it falls apart after about 6 months. The first the legs conpleatly fell off which was absolutely insane I’ve never seen this Happen before. My husband bought a specia tool kit to fix it. With my second tripod, the head fell apart- imagine the heart attack one would have when you have $6000 of gear mounted and the head gives in.I do shoot far more than any other photographer I know. With two to three shoots a day I’m hard on my gear and expect it to be replaced yearly however, every six months, and for a tripod (so not electronic) this is getting really old.

Sturdy, but heavy
This is a really solid tripod/head combo and the price is as good as I could find anywhere. I love the ability to lower it to near ground level. I use it mostly for macro photography, for which it works well. It's a little heavier than I was hoping, so it's usefulness in the field is limited to short hikes (the Manfrotto 75cm padded bag helps, model number MBAG75PN).

Fabulous!
I bought this tripod to replace a $25 special I was using for my birding spotting scope and I can't say enough good things about it. It's solid as a rock and really improves the performance of the spotting scope. The pan and tilt of the 3-way head are very smooth and lock with a quick twist of the wrist. The quick-release mounting plate secures to the scope and locks onto the head very solidly. I simply couldn't ask for more! The unit I orders was advertised as coming with two quick release mounting plates but only one was delivered. However, a quick email to the seller (DBROTH) had another one on the way immediately and I received that today. I'll attach the second mounting plate to my 600mm birding lens and I'm sure my photography will immediately improve.A super product and excellent customer service!

Product arrived without a genuine UPC code, QR code, or any sort of indication that it is a genuine product. I tried to register it on the Manfrotto website, but it isn't possible, as there is no UPC code to input. (Only a 10 digit code printed on an adhesive label, where the Manfrotto site says it should be 12 digits .)Not exactly sure what to do here... I am not 100% sure it's counterfeit, but I really have no way to know. Quality seems OK, but likely sending it back as I can't register it for the 10 year warranty.
