Vinyl LP pressing. 2013 debut album from this band led by former Bikini Kill/Le Tigre singer/songwriter Kathleen Hanna. This release also marks the much-anticipated reunion of Kathleen with her Bikini Kill bandmate Kathi Wilcox. For this project, Kathleen put together her dream group: Wilcox on bass, Kenny Mellmen (of Punk cabaret sensation Kiki And Herb) on keyboards, Sara Landeau on guitar, and Carmine Covelli on drums. Recorded at Oscilloscope Studios in New York, the 13 songs on Run Fast range from sing-along anthems about being part of the underground in the modern economy ('Kids in NY') to Punk stompers ('Oh Come On') and danceable takedowns ('Ha Ha Ha'). The album also includes the soulful 'Just My Kind,' produced by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. Besides a couple of songs mixed by Kathleen herself, the bulk of the album was mixed by Eli Crews (Tune-Yards' whokill).

Oh, come on, buy this record!
I absolutely adore Kathleen Hanna...Bikini Kill, Julie Ruin, Le Tigre and now The Julie Ruin. For over 20 years she's been doing it hew own way on her own terms. Her music is still full of the same rage and screams, but now seasoned with age. Dinner is served and it tastes so good.

music that actually rocks!
These days its hard to find bands that actually ROCK and Run Fast does just that. I may have my issues with Kathleen Hanna's politics, but this a great record. The rhythm section is bad ass and Kathleen's lyrics are better than ever. This is holding me over while I wait for the next Wild Flag record....fingers crossed.

I loved Deceptacon when I first heard it and I think ...
Bursting and overflowing with energy and catchy tunes. I loved Deceptacon when I first heard it and I think a lot of the tracks on this album are right up there with it. Highly recommended especially as it seems this album has generally been sadly overlooked.

Great to have Kathleen Hanna back!
The return of Kathleen Hanna after a some years out, battling lyme disease really should be celebrated. Sadly, along with much of her output, weather with Bikini Kill or Le Tigre it seems to have flown somewhat under the radar. Cult artist perhaps, but those who know, will not be dissapointed here. Recommended.

Exciting.
Caught these on the Jimmy Fallon Show and bought this solely on the back of 'Oh Come On', which they performed live. As i only purchased it today, i have only played it once, hence 4 stars and not 5 (which no doubt it will be next week). Worth the money just for the amazing and unique voice of Kathleen Hanna.
