Robert; your local supplier of medical devices and gases will have a special fitting which fits onto this cylinder. It ships empty, obviously. Just show up (Our local place is called "OxyBec"), and ask for them to refill the cylinder. They'll do it. If you're a DIYer, and this is not for medical applications, you can take a CGA 870 fitting with a tube attached to it, cut off the tube, and mate it to a larger CGA to connect to another gas cylinder. MAKE SURE THE PRESSURE IN THE "LARGER CYLINDER IS LESS THAN 2000 PSI. Once you open the valves on both cylinders, the differential in pressure will dictate the flow of gas. At some point, you'll equillibrate the pressures. Shut off both valves, and you'll have gas in you cylinder. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS. Ideally, you'd have the cylinder filled at an authorized location. In case of emergency, try the above, but keep in mind that I hereby expressly decline any responsibility if you blow yourself up.

Q: How many hours of continuous use will itt provide?

Im a first responder and use this tank if as part as my medical bag. Ive used it with nasal canula, non-rebreather, and BVM and different LPM (2-4 LPM for nasal can, and 10-12LPM for non-rebreather)It all depends on type used (nasal canula vs non rebreather vs BVM) and how many LPM you are using.refer to this chart link (https://www.phc-online.com/O2-tank-duration_a/151.htm)Hope this helps.

Q: Would i need a special connection to attach a small face mask to this cylinder? I'm looking to use it for breathing problems in my little Yorkie dog.

You will need a mini-regulator as well. It connects to the valve on the cylinder and has a fitting for an oxygen tube. It also allows you to set how many liters per minute you wish to flow.

Q: Is the CGA 870 toggle valve easy to turn without a wrench?

Yes. It is quite easy to move into position and gives a little click when in place.
