Crayola Marker Airbrush Set

.....and we couldn't find it ANYWHERE!! Apparently it is a hot item this year and IMPOSSIBLE to find! Thank God for Amazon; not only they had it but they promise to have it to me in time for Christmas (due for delivery today, fingers crossed!) **12/27/13 UPDATE**....Thank God for Amazon as they pulled through as they always do and got it to us in time for Christmas. Not sure if we recieved a broken unit or if Crayola just missed the mark on this one! This DOES NOT WORK AT ALL! Absolute bummer for my son on Christmas. My husband worked on it for a good half hour before giving up....we plan on returning it.

I bought this product for my 9 year old daughter, and I hesitated in buying since there were a few reviews stating it was hard to use. However, I'm so glad I bought this for her. It's EASY to use. The sprayer can easily be pushed for a long time by kids as young as 5 (we don't have experience with kids younger than this, so someone else can comment on that). My daughter's friends come over and want to use this toy all the time, and my other daughter (11) enjoys it too. The designs are fun, and the sprayer doesn't "spread" to far, so it's not messy at all. The fact that there are no batteries is a HUGE plus for me. It gets so annoying and expensive always having to replace batteries for toys - even charging toys is a pain. I highly recommend this product for easy-to-use, fun, inexpensive, creative art time!

I am quite happy that I made this purchase. I am working on a fairly large-scale project of decorating a white cotton dress entirely with fabric markers. My design has some large expanses of yellow and blue, which I was not really looking forward to doing completely by hand. I saw a commercial for this airbrush and thought "there's my solution!" It took me a few tries to really get the hang of using it, but now it's smooth sailing and I'm grateful for the time that's been saved as a result. The brush is really easy to control and the stream of color stops on a dime. At first I was covering up all of the preexisting drawings with painter's tape, but I figured out that that wasn't really necessary, as I could use the airbrush right up to where the drawings start and not worry about bleeding. The only problem (which was my own fault for not reading closely enough) is that the airbrush only works with broadline markers -- so my fine point fabric markers don't fit. But a few packs of the Crayola Bright Fabric Broadline Markers took care of that oversight. I think that I probably spend more time pumping up the airbrush than I do actually coloring with it, which is not a huge deal. Kids might get frustrated by how quickly it loses pressure though. It does tear through ink pretty quickly, but at least with the Bright Fabric markers, I've found that even once they no longer really work in the airbrush, they still have enough ink left for a good amount of hand drawing. So don't throw them out right away!

I love how this is hand powered. No need to plug in or change batteries. Also, it makes the kids work to get the ink out of the marker. My 4 year old boy loves making art with the stencils and also free styling it. My 7 year old daughter has a lot of fun with this as well. Since it's battery and plug in free, it's even easy to travel with and take to a cabin for the weekend. Very fun. Just make sure you really push the markers down into the nozzle or it won't work.

I bought this as a christmas gift for a 9 year old budding artist. Her mother lets me know what she is interested in prior to me purchasing her gift. I cannot believe this product is rated 3.5 from what my friend told me about the problems her daughter had with the set. It appears that the pumping mechanism doesn't work. My friend said she pumped the canister like she was a marine, . All she got was hissing air. Nothing. Even her daughter said let's pack it up and she NEVER gives up! I am very conscientious about gifts I give to my friends' children. The friend's child I gave this to has never complained about any of the gifts I have given. This had to be really bad!!!! I read some of the comments and am really shocked at the complaints about the toy but the high ratings given. I am going to request a refund.

This product is amazing. I teach art and bought a bunch for my class. I use one personally as well! It's perfect for stencil projects because unlike spray paint, the ink is transparent so you can do great stuff with overlaps. People that have written about it being messy are using it wrong. Crayola should tell you to shake the markers towards the bottom so the ink pools away from the tip. If you dont do this, new markers sputter and spurt ink and bubble up, a couple shakes in the opposite direction fixes this. My main issue with Amazon is that I purchased one for $20 and then all of a sudden the price jumps to nearly $50? Screw that. Go to Target where I bought 6 for $15 each on sale from $20. You could buy 3 for what they are charging here.

My husband thought my daughter and I had lost our mind. This product sounds like a huge 'problem' in the hands of busy 5 yr old boy. I had read reviews that claimed the mess was minimal. It isn't like the little guy can help himself to using it any time he wants. My daughter took time punching out the stencils included and covering as much as she could with plastic and newspaper. I guess it was impressive how little mess there was, all the mess was on one hand the boy chose to paint as soon as his Mom's back was turned. Thank goodness for washable markers. I guess there are quite a few markers included as well as a compatible markers list. My grandson had a lot of fun making up his creative stories in air brush while his Mom prefers to play with the stencils. It was packaged well and arrived in good time

This product is just so-so. My kids like it, so that is a big plus and it was well-priced. However, it took us several tries and a few internet searches until we could figure out how to make it work. The instructions say to lock the marker in as far as the lock will go, but really it should only be about halfway to make it spray. At least that's what worked for us - I've seen other people with other solutions. Beyond that, my kids have to try a few times every time they change colors to get it to work. If so many people are having this many issues getting it to work, then something isn't right. Either the product or the directions. That said, I'm glad my kids are enjoying the product and having fun. I probably wouldn't buy this as a gift though. It's just too frustrating.

I already had one of these but bought this for a friend.. the problem with this is buying refills

Arrivato con la consueta regolarità di Amazon, è veramente uno spasso. I bimbi vanno aiutati e anche con l'ausilio di un adulto si rischia di fare un po' di pasticci, ma quando si riesce a inserire correttamente il pennarello nell'erogatore (troppo giù schizza, troppo su non colora) l'effetto aerografo è veramente notevole e, usando gli stencil forniti e sfumando più colori, si ottengono risultati entusiasmanti. Non so se risulterà anche resistente (il contenitore e in cui pompare l'aria sembra leggerino...), ma per questo prezzo difficile trovare qualcosa di così carino per creare con i bambini.

Most of the colours never worked because they were dry to start with. My 6 year old kid played with it for a day or so and then got frustrated because so many colours just don't work and he got tired of working with only orange.
