OXO Good Grips Silicone Steamer

Great flexible steamer! I use this to steam veggies and the versatility of fitting easily into the pot and removing make it a handy little addition to any kitchen. It's obviously lightweight and easy to clean. I would recommend.

Nice little strainer works well in smaller pots

This is a pretty effective steamer, suitable for a wide range of pots. I was a long-time user of the collapsible stainless-steel steamers but finally got fed up with losing pieces in the dishwasher. We have plenty of other OXO products and appreciate the higher quality and throughout design. We've had this steamer for a few weeks now and use it daily. It's a superior replacement for the stainless steel steamer but has two minor details that I wish were modified: 1) Those handles... They are frustratingly placed to make placing the lid difficult. You have to fold them down, one-at-a-time and any time you lift the lid both pop back up to vertical. I don't even need them so ended up cutting them off with scissors (very easy) and have been completely satisfied with the results. 2) The legs which the steamer stand on are taller than the stainless steamer and as such reduce the volume of vegetables that can be steamed in a given pot. Not a huge deal if you have bigger pots but we're a growing family and haven't found the right set yet. Overall a fantastic product. I'm not happy giving 4 stars but those handles... they're just wrong.

This is an incredible steamer! I told my friend that I was in the market for a steamer, and he recommended this one. I’m thrilled that it has zero metal parts because I was hoping to avoid metal parts. I also trust the OXO brand. I’m currently using this in a 2.5 quart saucepan. It’s a bit small for this steamer, but it’s the biggest pot I have for now. It works. The handles of this steamer fold together like in the promotional picture, and that’s how the whole thing easily fits in the pot after I filled it. When I’m done steaming, I just lift it up by those handles together, and sort of pour my food into my bowl. It’s very quick! Rinse the steamer in the sink, and I’m done. It’s the quickest way to make healthy, zero oil vegan dishes.

It's a great steamer IF you don't forget you're steaming something and let all the water steam out of your pot. Multiple people have complained that the steamer melts. Come on, people. NO, the steamer won't melt if using correctly by having enough water in your pot and you don't let the water dry up with the stove still on. I just melted the steamer tonight after previously flawless use, because I completely spaced out and wasn't by my stove when the timer sounded. Completely my fault. Pros: food doesn't stick, no annoying middle stem, easy lift handles, large space to steam many things at once. Cons: better suited for use in a larger pot, can melt if left in pot with no water on a heating burner. Not sure if I'll repurchase, but it was a great steamer before I accidentally burned it.

I really am loving this steamer ! I needed to start cooking my baby solids and instead of spending a ton of money on a baby food system to steam, I just purchased this and use it in a saucepan I already have. The vegetables and fruits have steamed very quickly and it’s very easy to clean. I like that it rolls up and I love that it is silicone. Overall it’s great value for your money! It might be on the pricier end but trust me OXO products do not disappoint.

I likes the idea of this steamer. I liked the look and sturdiness of it when I received it. When using it, you can fold the handles inside the lid of the pot you are steaming stuff in, or leave them poking out under the lid. I make my 'hard boiled' eggs now by steaming them (try it, you will never go back to boiling them) and this steamer worked OK. Lifting 12 eggs in it proved difficult and one even fell out onto the floor. The steamer also emitted an definite rubber smell when using it with veggies. I can't speak to it's longevity as because of my own dumb fault I let a pot boil dry when steaming eggs. The legs of the steamer burned right off. I was not impressed enough with the other aspects of it's performance to even consider purchasing another one of them. Back to stainless steel baskets for me.

I give this product 5 stars. OXO makes great stuff. It is well made and functions well, but there was an issue that I had when using it with a 6 qt Instant Pot. The steamer handles stick up past the top of the 6 qt Instant Pot (see photo) but I didn't think this would be an issue, so I put the lid on and started cooking at high pressure but the pressure didn't build like it usually does. After a few minutes there was some steam coming out around the rim of the Instant Pot lid. I had not seen this happen before so I shut it down, flipped the steam release knob but here was no steam released. I took off the lid and found that the silicon gasket was pushed out of place. I thought that maybe I had not installed it correctly so I corrected this, put the lid back on and took it off again. The gasket was out of position a second time. I believe that the silicon steamer handles had slid outwards along the curved lid and pushed up under the silicone sealing ring, not allowing for a complete seal. I tied the handles over against each other with some string and put the lid back on and pressure immediately began to build. All ok. The OXO Steamer with an 8qt Instant Pot, being taller, should function without issue. To improve this product, OXO could include a silicon handle latch for use in smaller pots perhaps a stainless steel S hook would work. The steamer handles in the photo are a bit lower after cooking the roast than they were before cooking.

I use this in my pressure cooker on steam function as a cradle for veggies and fish (with foil lining). Works well.

This silicone steamer basket is a good fit for the Pressure King Pro 6 litre one pot. I bought it to use in addition to the shallow basket that comes with the pot and the two go together very well, doubling the area in which vegetables can be steamed. I was tempted to buy one of the cheaper versions, but read horror stories of them melting etc. I can recommend the oxo basket - it is good quality and performs well in the Pressure King Pro.

Utilisé une seule fois pour le moment, pour faire du chou-fleur au Cookeo. Il n'avait pas l'air très grand sur le site, mais je me suis fiée aux commentaires clients et ne suis pas déçue de la contenance. J'avais hésité avec un autre modèle "lotus" à un prix bien moindre, mais j'ai préféré celui-là pour ses bords recourbés, ce qui donne un panier assez profond. Même en le remplissant complètement, la cuisson est uniforme. Les anses sont très pratiques pour extraire le panier du Cookeo. Se lave et se range très facilement. A voir sur la durée...

I like it but find it hard to remove from my 6 quart instant pot because it fits so snugly. So I'd have to wait til the pot cools down a little before removing, or risk getting scalded.

Personalmente considero que es más práctico tener un aditamento como este que se adecúa a cualquier olla que comprar una vaporera. Es muy fácil de manejar, las asas se entrelazan, para guardarla es muy práctica, al ponerla sobre la olla por ser de silicón no raya la olla, por la forma que tiene se adapta a ollas más pequeñas o mas grandes, la canasta donde se ponen los vegetales no es muy grande, pero yo necesito algo para 2 personas por lo que se me hace excelente, creo (calculando) que para 4 personas es perfecta. Deja los vegetales muy bien y con colores intensos lo cual invita a comerlos y a usarla! Los puedes cocinar tan crujientes o cocidos como prefieras. La he usado 3 veces y siempre han salido bien, espero que dure mucho. Por la marca supongo que así será
