What can you really write about this water bath cannery tool. I think they have been made and used for many decades and understanding the coating I am amazed at how creative people were in the past who created cooking utensils that hold up to the test of time. I think sadly that the organization that sets the standards for safe canning is moving more toward pressure cookers. But for those who can using a water bath this is probably what they already have and if they are reading this review they are looking to buy another one. For those new to canning this is a great product that will not set you back very much. My pressure cooker was much more expensive than this one and if you do you research those small pressure cookers are not considered adequate for canning so you need to go to the much larger pressure canning cookers which cost enough that it had me questioning my wisdom in wanting to can. I only can garden produce when I get more than I can eat so it is not like I can everything although it is a very effective way to preserve food pretty cheaply and safely. Simply stated this works great, is constructed to the same quality as some of my older pots of this type and provide a very effective and inexpensive tool to make your canning experience easier.

I am a beekeeper, and some of the bounty of doing farmers' market is the trading and swapping that occurs at the close of each market. When I started having access to flats of strawberries and stone fruit, I had a friend teach me the basics of jam making. I grabbed this as the perfect boil pot for canning, and can say that it is a remarkable price point, and an amazingly perfect tool for cranking out the batches of jam. Good size, excellent quality, the rack inside work just fine unless you are a clumsy brute who destroys tools. Would buy this again, and have no hesitation in recommending this as the perfect canning setup for jam and other canning projects. Buy this and make jam with summer bounty. Your toast will love you in mid-winter when you pull those sweet jars out of the pantry on a cold, wintery day. It's an investment in preparing a quality life!

I'm new at home canning, and wasn't sure what to buy. This canner is just what I needed. It's huge, and works great. The fact that it came with the canning rack was a real bonus. With the rack, you just lift it up and hang the handles over the edge of the pot, load you jars in, and then lower them all in the boiling water at the same time. No getting burned from the steam. And, when it's time to remove the jars, you just lift the rack back up, hang it over the edge again, and take the jars out (be sure to use potholders, of course, when lifting the rack in and out of the pot). I am really impressed with the quality, too. The price was a real bonus with this one as well. Excellent value!

This item is as expected - it's a replacement for a canning pot/lit/rack ensemble that I've had for about 13 years now, since the enamel and the chrome on the metal of the rack are now flaking off and rusting through. However, the delivery was quite strange. There was no picture for confirmation, just a notice on the Orders page that it had been delivered. Turns out, the pot was delivered with no box, with a receipt from Tractor Supply taped to the lid, and with a customer name of 'David Gillies', not Dave Wolfe, which is the name on this account. Thankfully, the pot isn't scratched from being put down on the driveway cement, but if the point of origin for this pot was the local Tractor Supply all along, I could have just driven the three miles to got get the kit myself. At least the pot is exactly a replica of the one I'm replacing, and I won't have to worry about the old rusting canning rack giving way while loaded with hot glass bottles.

Purchased this in the fall of 17' and it is going strong used very heavily! Definitely a kitchen staple and everyone should have some version of this pot with the ability to have the water above a qt sized bottle. It's lightweight when empty and I just store all the items I need for canning inside when not in use. Clean and thoroughly dry after each use, add all canning items and turn the lid upside down to fit easier on a shelf even. When I moved out of my parents I just looked for what looked like what was in my mother's kitchen and this was what I found and it's been great for me!

This is a great value. I am currently using it for cooking down maple syrup and the pan is performing exactly as anticipated.

This canner is huge and will do the job

I had looked all over for this exact pot. I had one just like it, but enamal was wearing off and I lost the lid. I use it for water bath canning and it fits 8-quart mason jars easily. I also use it to mix large amounts of foods that are too much for the biggest bowl I have. It also comes with a jar rack. Having looked so long for a large pot just like this and seeing how expensive they were, this is a great price and the description of the product is just what you get. It was also delivered very quickly!

This product is exactly as it was described. I am looking forward to using this water canner. I bought this because it was the most popular water canner that I see other used on YouTube. The size is perfect and I really like the quality of this product. Would highly recommend.

This seems to be a really good canner. It holds 8 standard quart jars and comes with a rack. It was a decent price too.
