Crafting Wearables: Blending Technology with Fashion (Technology in Action)

I have read several books on this topic and I have to say this is the most comprehensive and well-researched book I have found. It provides an excellent overview of the field, really fun example projects and techniques and leaves you with some interesting insight into how professionals are using this technology. I really enjoyed the chapters about digital fabrication and high tech fabrics, they exposed me to some really interesting projects and products. I am just starting to adopt wearables into my teaching and I know I will be referring to this book often for ideas. I bought a copy for my school library and would highly recommend it to any teacher or hobbyist looking to expand their knowledge of wearables and e-textiles.

It overviews the wearables market, including contemporary suppliers of parts and materials. Suitable for introducing tech concepts via clothing design and crafting, grades 6-11 depending on student background. Also good for the self-directed student as an introduction to hobby electronics via wearables.
