It provides an excellent overview of the field
I have read several books on this topic and I have to say this is the most comprehensive and well-researched book I have found. It provides an excellent overview of the field, really fun example projects and techniques and leaves you with some interesting insight into how professionals are using this technology. I really enjoyed the chapters about digital fabrication and high tech fabrics, they exposed me to some really interesting projects and products. I am just starting to adopt wearables into my teaching and I know I will be referring to this book often for ideas. I bought a copy for my school library and would highly recommend it to any teacher or hobbyist looking to expand their knowledge of wearables and e-textiles.

Also good for the self-directed student as an introduction to hobby ...
A lovely and current entry-level textbook for wearable electronics, focusing on history, cultural context, and introductory crafting lessons. It overviews the wearables market, including contemporary suppliers of parts and materials. Suitable for introducing tech concepts via clothing design and crafting, grades 6-11 depending on student background. Also good for the self-directed student as an introduction to hobby electronics via wearables.
