I work on an ambulance. We get in our rig at the start of the day and never see the station until the end of our shift. I've eaten so many cold, disgusting meals, used the most degenerate flop house microwaves at truck stops and hospitals, and I'm done with it. I've eaten enough soup out of a thermos that I don't want soup ever again. This product is absolutely fantastic. I put my food in at the start of my shift and by lunch, it's piping hot. If we catch a run, I can put the container back in the heater and it will be ready when I am. I work a 12 hour shift, so lunch goes in at the start of the day, and dinner goes in after lunch.It let it run overnight to see the maximum temp. Using the 6 cup pyrex half full of cool tap water, the Hot Logic heats the water to 145F after about an hour, and tops out at 172F after a few hours. It maintains the temp at 170-172F forever. I've tried plastic meal prep containers to see if they'd melt. They don't. It's not nearly as hot as a microwave gets, and you don't get that nasty crust of sizzled goo at the edges with the center of my food still frozen. The heat is consistent across the element.Absolutely fantastic. It's probably a bit of hyperbole to say it's "life changing" but to actually have hot food when I want it without finding some nasty inner city gas station to heat my food, or eating yet another cold meal, I'm extremely pleased. I literally live in an ambulance on the road for 40-50 hours a week. Having a little human comfort is phenomenal.Mine is labelled as Made in the USA. I'm a union guy, and so I appreciate that.

So far I am extremely impressed! I purchased three of these lunch boxes two days ago in the hopes that my children shall be able to use them at school. My son has sensitivities to the amount of fat and sugar in foods and dislikes sandwiches so this seems as though it will be the perfect solution. I received them earlier today and they look great. They feel very well made. Having questions, I called the company and spoke with Jake who was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to know how to present these lunch boxes to the school since I am concerned that they would be reluctant to allow a plug in device. Jake understood exactly what I needed and gave me a lot of help with how to present our "case" to the school. He emailed me immediately after our conversation and offered so much help for my son. This was, quite literally, the best customer service experience I have ever had. I was so impressed with the level of commitment, service and care that I purchased another unit a few minutes ago for my husband who travels frequently. I am going to use the boxes tomorrow to cook lunch and I shall update my review then.EDITED TO ADD 8/10/2014I used all three of these in my car on a ten-hour car ride with my children. I have to report that they performed perfectly! Even with all three plugged in in my car- I used an inverter that I also purchased on Amazon - I had no problems running all three at once. They heated up our chicken thighs and rice well and my children and I got to enjoy a home cooked meal rather than road food. This was especially helpful since my son suffers from mild car sickness and greasy fast food exacerbates his discomfort. I tested several types of containers and found the Sistema plastic containers, the ones that lock on all four sides, from Target, work perfectly. The glass 6-cup Pyrex containers did not work well for us. The containers got far too hot for my children to handle and the food created steam that loosened the lid too much creating a risk of steam burns and spills. The Sistema containers are also less than half the price. I am so happy with these lunch boxes and I am really hopeful that our school will allow their use during the year. I will update my review in a few months after we have used the lunch boxes more.

I work in an office without easy access to a microwave. I prefer hot meals for lunch and usually have to walk down a long corridor with my heated lunch wafting food smells along the way. Since purchasing this device I've been able to discreetly heat my lunches (which I bring in glass containers) and then enjoy my meal without advertising to everyone what I'm eating. The Mini-mac does not have temperature regulation. Once it is turned on it comes upto a steady temperature and stays there. I bring my lunch with a cold pack, so it's pretty cold when I start the process. I usually set it up 1.5 -2 hrs before lunch. I have heated dense casseroles and light soups. Works well for all food items but may require more time the more food is in the container. For safety I use it on a flat surface with lots of space so nothing is touching the box. Best part is as soon as I unplug it quickly cools down for a quick wipe (usually not needed) and the cord folds away neatly into a pocket on the back, and I just slip into the back of a desk drawer. I really love this device. Saves me money because I can bring my own hot meals and time since I'm not roaming the halls looking for an available microwave. Highly recommend.
