Stainless Standard Butterfly Net

This is exactly what I wanted! The net is large enough in diameter to not have to precisely aim to capture an insect and the depth of the net does the job keeping them in. It seems durable and of good quality made of strong metal and has sturdy netting material. The handle extends easily and smoothly. It did not come with any instructions on how to assemble the net itself to the ring so I gave it to my husband and he had it ready in 15 seconds. I was making it too complicated with my overthinking! We are pleased with our purchase!

Well made. Light duty. I don't think it would be strong enough to be used as a fishing net, but it's excellent for catching carpenterbees.Nice

This is a pretty great butterfly net. I appreciate the extendability, and it seems fairly sturdy. However it is won’t stay retracted. Always slides out and around. This makes it seem annoying and cheap. It still works for catching “field plankton” for my reptiles, but there is certainly room for improvement.

I bought a 16 inch net. it is half inch less but not a big deal on that. i wanted a big one, and it is. I had no issues with the net assembly. it goes together fast and easy. once you get it the length you want, twist the other way to set it in place. i am catching carpenter bees in mine. its a good quality and swishes through the air fast, the drop of the net is long enough to quick flip and trap a bug in it. very happy with this net. would recommend.

When I received the item, I was a bit confused at how it all went together (there's not that many pieces). It was easy to figure out, and I was able to grab the great LONG handle net, and run to the pool enclosure, and after a few attempts, was able to catch the dragonfly! As I was using it, the extended handle kept collapsing, which was frustrating, but I quickly figured out that it had to be turned, to keep it al the desired length. Each section needs to be tightened when you are using it. It collapsed just fine, and now we are thrilled to have a strong metal pole, that can help rescue flying critters. I also liked that it was pretty wide, which helped immensely when rescuing the dragonfly. I did some research on-line and learned that as it gets dark, a dragonfly and butterfly will stay still until daylight. This poor little guy had been in there for two days and was pretty tired. I did have to bump him very gently, so that I could catch him, and he started flying and with the help of a small ladder, was successful. It was wonderful to see him fly away free without screens being in his way.

It’s a nice size net order it to try to capture a budgie it never return. Very well constructed don’t hesitate to purchase.

As soon as I went to put the net on it ripped. The net frame itself is of quality, but the netting leaves little to be desired. I used it for a costume on Halloween so it served its purpose, but if using for legit purposes idk if this is the one you’d want to get.

NOTE: the handle is of the "twist-lock" variety, so it stays where you put it and can be loosened to collapse or extend freely. From other comments it seems like folks have been confused about that and there's no mention of it in the packaging or on the product. Good value. Quality is good enough. Any net like this is going to be a bit delicate, you can't be swinging around a piece of cast iron to catch a moth, so don't sit on it :) Bigger than I thought. I use it to catch pantry moths, so a bit bigger than I strictly need but works great. The net is nice and deep so whatever you capture is less likely to escape once in the bottom of the net. Also the mesh is fine so captures even small moths, something that was a problem with the "child-sized" nets I tried first. Those were good enough for the job quality wise but pantry moths would just fly right out through the larger mesh. I would do it again, although for my personal purposes I'd probably look for something a little smaller.

Needed a net to catch a bird that was trapped in our garage. Arrived in one day and was easy to assemble. Operation Feathery Friend was a success thanks to the net. The handle is telescopic for easy storage and has a great reach when fully extended. Great for bug hunting or bird rescuing!!!
