V Blade Slicer

this Mandolin , was very good works very well on cutting all types of foods . As someone with a very bad hand and arm I fell feel very safe using this, and it came with a cutting glove which stops you from cutting yourself and this came free . I will be telling everyone where I got this from and will pass on your web page to them as well. And yes I will be back to put more orders in for me.

Very nice quality. I found it easy to shred cabbage, but I have not succeed with carrot sticks. Soft veg like onions glide through but anything that is hard is almost impossible for me. The blades are lethal and being older it scares me a bit, so I haven't used it as much as I would have liked. Perhaps a PAIR of safe gloves would have been better. Next on my list.

Saw these on TV. The blades are really sharp and can cut many fruit and vegetables. Really helps save time cooking and doing the prep. Easy to clean. Light and sturdy. Thank you

I love my mandolin slicer it it is so easy to use and saves me so much time. when veggies get stuck just as they get sammler I use the end of the hand guard to push it down. It is my new gadget for kitchen that will be use daily as far as I am concerned it is must have and will recommend to my friends

Used for chopping vegetables for soup and making julienne carrots for salad. Easy enough to use, but always a bit of the veg left when the food holder reaches its limit, which then has to be cut up with a knife anyway. In times like these, when food prices are continually rising, no-one wants to be throwing away ANY part of their ingredients. Cleaning was fairly straight forward but one has to be careful of the julienne cutter when washing/rinsing, as it (like the main cutting blade) is extremely sharp. The mandoline itself can be wiped clean with a damp cloth as long as one ensures that it is wiped in the reverse direction to the cutting edge of the blade, but when wiping the underneath, the thin supporting bar across the middle of the mandoline means that you can't wipe in one straight sweep which is a bit annoying. On the whole, a useful piece of equipment, and once it's set up, can slice a piece of veg very quickly, but by the time it's set up and the correct blade is inserted, it would be quicker to use a knife if one is only chopping a single item. It's better for larger quantities of veg. There's also more of it to clean (and a lot of extra storage space to find) than a simple chopping knife. Protective glove was useful when holding veg (like leek for instance) that wouldn't fit into the food holder. Would probably be useful for someone who has difficulty gripping a chopping knife.

In a lot of ways, this has a lot to recommend it It comes with an anti-cut glove, a blade guard and a holder for the veg you are slicing. It is also easy to disassemble to clean. All these are good features and if it had done what it is supposed to do, that is slice, I would have given it five stars. However, the V shape of the blades leaves a point at their join where there is no cutting edge. This leads to resistance and makes slicing hard work. It would have been a lot better if it had been designed with a single angled blade. As soon as I can find a decent mandoline with a single angle blade I will replace it.
