Turn Your Drill into a Hole Post Auger Machine
We purchased the XtremepowerUS Replacement Auger Bit 6" inch for Post Holes because we needed to drill a few holes and did not have a dedicated auger machine on hand. We did have a hammer drill that can rotate at a fairly high speed that could power an auger up to 6 inches in diameter. With an adapter we purchased on Amazon, we converted our hammer drill with the 6" auger bit into an efficient hole auger machine! The 6" auger drill bit is made of very tough steel plate that rapidly cuts into the ground thru light roots as we found out The drill's neck attachment is standard and easy to attach to the machine's chuck and will fit just about any dedicated or in our case, our hybrid auger/hammer drilling machine. The design is typical for these 6" drills, a value for the investment and competes with other higher priced auger bits. We highly recommend this 6" Auger Bit.

It's awesome.
Wow! I'm impressed! I drilled 5 holes approximately 2 foot deep each in hard rocky clay soil using my clam drill plate with gear reduction. Warning!! If you hit a rock or big root it will spin you like a clock or break your wrists! The auger held up awesome! Hardly a scratch on auger. Yes I would recommend. Just be slow when drilling.

Good for hot compost mixing so far.
Bought to mix/turn/aerate 1-2 cubic yard hot composting piles in place. So far, it works well for mixing/aerating compost piles. Saves hours of labor doing frequent turns such as in the Berkeley hot composting method.Bought and modified a large drill adapter to use the 6" auger bit in a large drill that I use for mixing plaster and concrete. XtremepowerUS should sell such drill adapters for similar lighter weight applications. On first inspection, it could use some more welds along the main shaft where the spiral flutes attaches if used for heavy earth auguring ( minus 1 star ). If I ever decide to use it for post hole digging with a proper power head, I will probably add a few more welds.

Solid bit with great performance
I used this auger bit for fence post holes, and it handled the job really well. The quality feels strong, and the functionality was exactly what I needed. In sandy soil it cut with speed and ease of planting, though hitting a root did show how much power it transfers to the drill. Definitely recommend using it with an auger. The durability looks solid so far, and overall the ease of use made the project much smoother.

Poor fit on standard adapter
Doesnโt fit a standard 3/4โ shaft or adapter. It measures closer to 27/32โ, so it wobbles all around on a 3/4โ adapter. If you can get a hole started and hold everything steady, it seems to dig well. Should be able to make it work, but sure would be nice if tolerances were tighter.Edit: Used it to drill eight holes in hard shale soil. Other than the wobbling, it worked well. Drilled through a lot of rocks and roots with no issue.
