A very good workbook
Bought this for my son to work on during the summer. He just finished 6th grade. He first felt the questions were challenging but after several days, he loves it!

Algebra word problems
Not for 6th grade. After my son finished spectrum 8th grade math workbook and big fat middle school workbook, he went through this. He did not want to do it alone. I usually sat next to him and gave him a bit of hints. A bit of challenging. One page a day. Now he is done, and i typed all the questions and printed so that my son can go through this again alone. Now he does 4 to 5 questions a day, and he can do most of these by himself. The answer explanations don't make sense. I ignored and solved using algebra. Very good algebra word problems. My son is 6th grade now and ready to go through high school algebra. I might get this book again as a fun review book for him when he actually becomes 8th grade.

Keeping aligned with (or ahead of) regular schools
Our family uses Math U See curriculum but has enjoyed simultaneously using some daily math/daily word problem books from Evan-Moore publishers as a way to keep aligned with the common core standards in case our children go back to regular school. The Evan-Moore products only go through 6th grade so we purchased this for additional 7th grade work with the second half of Math U See Pre-Algebra. It is VERY challenging but with my husband's help, our kids can get it. We feel that it is a good exercise to do these a few times a week and that it is good for our children to come across a variety of math challenges. The answers show the work as it would be taught through the Singapore curriculum which is often very different than the traditional way we were taught. Consequently this opens up many interesting conversations!

Excellent Word Problem book !
The quality of the book, the kind of questions, and the fact there is only one question per page and there is plenty of room for kids to write and make mistakes, is great. I know about math and the questions are designed very wise. The first one of these series that I ordered was for Grade 4 which it is called Level 3. After my child finished with Grade 4, I ordered books for Grade 5, 6, 7, and 8.I am not sure why on the cover of these books, in addition to "Grade number" there is a "Level number" too, the Level number is always one step lower than "Grade number" , but that is not important, I buy them according to their Grade numbers.

Excellent
I bought these for my kids. At the time, I wanted to enable them to engage with math beyond what they were doing at school. Unfortunately, most of the materials that I looked at were geared towards rote repetition. The Singapore Math books, by contrast, are excellent. They focus on creative problem solving and force children to really think through the materials. If you are wondering why Singapore's students are doing fabulously on the PISA tests that test student achievement across nations, here is the answer. Strongly recommended.

Good Mix of medium and complex word problems
My 7th grader who has been part of advanced math curriculum in school found few problems challenging however with some guidance he was able to learn and do it. Although book has very interesting word problems explanations in answers need improvement and would have been better if answers were using formula driven approach.
