I can't hear it!
I take meds that make me feel hot. It is difficult to sleep when I feel like I am going to break out in a full body sweat. I put this little fan on the headboard and run it on low. Alas!! I can cover up so the monster in the closet can't see me and stay cool all night!! I had a different fan,,same size,,but too loud. Had to wait for my wife to fall asleep before I could use it. THIS fan is so very quiet it does not disturb my wife. It moves a lot of air too. Now I will say this fan is ten inches from my head,,,but I only use low speed. High speed is much stronger,,,and you can hear some wind noise. Not much,,and nothing like what it is replacing. But high speed is much to powerful for sleeping. Have used this for a short while. Not sure how durable it is. It appears well built,,to the point that I was surprised. I did not expect it to feel this solid. So for now I am a fan of this fan! If that changes I will update my post.

Good high setting equal to number 2 setting on Honeywell.
Bought this to use when vandwelling/camping going to run off of a power bank/phone charger.I'm impressed there's two modes one high one low, the low setting push very little air but makes almost no noise. The high setting is comprable to the number two setting on my Honeywell 10" 120vac (pictured), and comprable to my 9" 5v Walmart fan (not pictured). All in all as a desk fan, camping fan as a emergency if you loose power I am very pleased with this purchase so far.Hope it last the 12 months that it's warranty is for.

This fan is awesome. I've tried one and immediately ordered more.
This fan is awesome. I've tried one and immediately ordered more. One fan somehow died shortly after arrival and I was about to get upset but was contacted by Opolar team and got free replacement. These fans have two speeds, absolutely quiet on speed 1 and quite powerful on speed 2. 9in model is more versatile then 6in model. Again, on speed 1 it is quieter and on speed 2 gives significantly stronger output. It will definitely not be able to compete with a regular fan, but it is surprisingly good for a usb model.

Awesome fan!
I bought a Digoo DF-101 which is a 10" USB fan with rechargable batteries. It didnt work. Ultimately that seller refunded me and let me keep the fan, and I bought this Opolar F511 9" fan. Eventually I opened up the Digoo, bypassed the electronics board which also meant I bypassed the battery storage/ use, and got the Digoo to work.Side by side, both fans running via a USB 2a connection, the Opolar fan moves a LOT more air. Also, on a daily basis these are connected to a portable solar panel in order to move warm air in our dining room (due to Sun thru the window) into our cooler living room. The Opolar runs even when the sun is weak (low voltage supplied) whereas the Digoo requires much stronger Sun to run. On the same note, the Opolar F511 spins a LOT faster and moves a LOT more air than the Digoo, even when the Sun is strong :)The Opolar F511 is usually quiet. With full Sun, almost 9 months into ownership I hear the fan now. It's not annoying, when the TV is on I do not hear the fan. When reading a book or two peiple are talking, then I still hear it. At half power it is very quite. The Digoo is always quiet. Admittedly though, since it doesn't spin up and move as much air, this is a difficult comparison. It is quieter than the Opolar IF it was spinning at max flow ... but since it only does this when plugged into a 2a USB charger, and I have them both connected to my solar panel, AND even then it doesn't move as much air as the Opolar, it's a moot point :)

Really great little fans, BUT BEWARE!
This is a great fan! It has little vibration, moves a surprising amount of air for it's size, and is very quiet. It comes with a built in USB cord and runs from any usb power source. I plan to buy a few more. Perfect fan for RV use.EDIT: I have revised my review from 5 stars to 2 for the following reason. I liked this fan so much that I came back and bought 4 more. Unfortunately, I was once again the victim of a subtle fraud that has become standard operating procedure for Amazon. The fan that I purchased just a couple of days ago for $22.99, is now $23.99! This is not an accident or an ordinary price increase. It is a systematic policy to extort more money from unsuspecting customers. Whenever you attempt to re-order items on Amazon, they most often use this tactic to get another dollar or two without you noticing, or they figure you are so used to getting screwed that you just accept it. It doesn't happen with every product, so I must assume that some suppliers sign on for this practice and some do not. Unfortunately Opolar has. They charge you more because they figure you are happy with the product and will now pay more. If I use another account to buy this product, the price is once again $22.99. Amazon customers need to know this is happening!!! OK fine, MY new policy is that no vender or product receives better than a score of 2 if they engage in this fraud.

I was pleasantly surprised.
I was pleasantly surprised. I bought 2 of the 9" fans because of hurricane Harvey and I was worried about power outages. Turns out Harvey didn't hit us very much here in Southeast Louisiana but a transformer did blow and leave us without power for a couple hours. One of these fans on a power bank kept me cool even while working out between sets. I keep another in my kitchen for a light breeze as I'm often really hot after my shower and need the extra cooling while finishing up the dishes. Small, light, quiet, sturdy and well made.

I like it
Could be stronger but then again I'm not using it simply at a desk and it's still good

Good Design, Doubtful QC
This is a reasonably quiet fan. On low speed it is effective to about 3 ft; on high speed, to about 5 ft, but significantly noisier. A quick check in my office with the phone held about 6 in from the fan gives 50 dB background (fan off), 72 dB low speed, 85 dB high speed (all figures very approximate, of course).I deducted 2 stars for the following reasons.(1) Specs (DC 5V/1.9-3.5W) are marked only on the box (which is very likely to be lost or discarded in short order); nothing is marked on the fan itself. I shouldn't be surprised if this were contrary to some regulation or other; but, at any rate, it isn't good. It's a given that a USB device will require DC 5V, but it is important to know how much current it draws, because a regular USB port is supposed to provide only 0.5A, whereas, according to its specs, this fan draws 0.4A on low speed and 0.7A on high. Those figures should have been marked on the fan itself.(2) I ordered 2 fans. 1 was fine; but the other's metal cage was rattling. The clips holding the front half of the cage were loose. That was quickly fixed with a pair of pliers, but it should not have passed QC in this condition. That 1 in 2 fans should have QC issues does not speak well for the manufacturing quality of this product.Edit: I've been using two of these fans for 2 years now. They've been in operation almost constantly since I received them; and they've worked flawlessly. After 2 years they are no noisier than when first turned on. So I'm changing my rating from 3 stars to 5.

Seems pretty great, energy efficient
Just received yesterday. Purchased for car camping in summer in tent... which will be next week.Seems to be built quite well. Without taking it apart, the housing, stand and blade all seem like good quality. Metal frame and stand. A "bit" of a noise that I wouldn't expect with a really good bearing, but acceptable.Tested with 20,000mAh, brand name, battery bank. Ran the fan on low speed for 24 hours and battery bank has 28% left, from full charge when starting. So, looking at an easy 4 nights of 8 hours run time on low with this setup.Re-charging battery bank to full at the moment so I can do the same test with the fan on High and will update.Update: Just ran it (same 20,000 battery pack) for 16 hours on high and had 20% left in the battery bank.

Great fan! Just wanted to address a common complaint
This fan is excellent. It's quiet and the depth allows me to put it in the window to let fresh air in.Some people were complaining that it wasn't getting enough power or vibrating/revving. I had this problem when it was connected it to an old wall cube, but it works fine now that it's on a fast-charging cube.Edit: I've been getting the vibrating issue now, it seems like a motor issue but adjusting the rubber feet helps a bit
