Easy to use.Works well with alexa.as advertised.Here is what I did to get it to work with alexa1. Got the smart plug set up. downloaded the app, followed the setup instructions plugged a lamp to test and enabled the lamp on/off using the app.2. opened alexa app > on the top left, I pushed the menu button and navigated to "Skills and games"3. under search I selected "Smart life plug" and then clicked "smart life"4. clicked on enable skill and followed the menu.5. I used my telephone number to get a code thru text, input the code on the screen and then it asked me if I wanted to grant alexa access and clicked yes.6. went to alexa, and then I was able to find the plug. created routines, etc... no problems.Overall, this product is great.

Over the last few months we have been adding more and more items to our Alexa. We have been purchasing smart lights so I can now control my dining light and bedroom light via Alexa... this is great for when you are too lazy after getting comfortable in bed, to get up and turn the light off in your room. What about for items that do not have a lightbulb? Well, then they have smart plug sockets like these.I ended up buying this plug so that I could use it on my bedroom fan. I'm usually warm when I go to bed and need my fan on, but sometimes during the night I get too cold and want it off. Solution for that? Set that fan up with the smart plug socket. If I wake up in the middle of the night I just tell Alexa to turn off fan, and she cuts the power to the fan. Voila! This makes my life just a little bit easier, a little bit more comfortable.. and well worth it (in my opinion).

I wanted a dimmer for a light, what I got was on/off socket with lights around the socket that varied in intensity.

Great smart plug and it does exactly as it's supposed to. The Tuya SmartLife app is better than most generic apps and gets the job done. I use this with my Google Assistant/Home and it works well. One issue however is that the switch, nightlight, and switch + nightlight all show as 3 separate devices in the Google Home app. Which is quite annoying. I wish there was a way to have that show as one switch/outlet instead of 3 separate ones for each function of the switch (nightlight, RGB, etc). Otherwise recommended.

This wifi smart plug outlet is really cool. I saw that there are a lot of plugs on Amazon for sale, and some plugs are very cheap, which gives me some hesitation about quality issues.After careful comparison, I saw that the wifi plug was well rated, it was designed to meet my requirements, and it also had RGB lights. I think these RGB lights will make my home look more interesting. I can use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to control this plug with voice commands. Turn the switch on or off , really convenient. I can use my mobile phone to turn off the light easily before going to bed.

I guess I don't have a 2.4G WiFi router . . ? I've got WiFi, it streams at 24-35 mbps, which I thought was pretty good, but I honestly don't know what my router is (I probably bought the router in 2012). I guess this doesn't work with my router, so I've just got an outlet with a little light around it . . . wish that requirement was more prominently featured on the product page.

Update 04/30/2019: Okay so after I returned this smart plug I was contacted by the sellers customer service. They told me that customer satisfaction is very important and even though I had already returned the plug they offered to send me another at no cost to myself. I received the smart plug and this time it connected quickly and worked very well. I have updated my review to 5 stars because obviously the first plug was faulty and the sellers customer service is beyond great!----------------------------So, I work in the technology industry, and I would like to think of myself as a tech guy, but despite trying over 20 times to get this plug to connect to the app on my phone, I had no success. I read the instructions, tried several different phones, watched youtube videos, tried it close and far away from my wireless router and nothing! I would put it in pairing mode (fast blink), choose the smart plug from the app, enter my wireless password and nothing! Not sure if the plug is defective or not but it blows me away it can be this difficult to get working! This one is going back, and I will try and different model.

This smart plug works fine and paired effortlessly with the Smart Life app I use on both Android and iOS. The RGB lighting feature is cool but I find it more of a gimmick kind of thing than something overall useful. If the color could change depending on the plug status (on or off) and/or had energy monitoring to change colors depending on load then I'd see it as a better use... just my opinion.
