We love this kitchen tool. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and helps make perfect pancakes and waffles. It doesn’t work too well to mix batter in, although I have done so. Best to mix batter in another bowl and then pour into the batter dispenser. Top rack dishwasher safe for the body, and hand wash for the plug.

Does this work on thicker liquids like pecan pie filling?

Wouldn't recommend it for anything with lumps or pieces of anything... didn't even work with blueberry pancake batter. We had to add the blueberries to the pancakes on the griddle after the fact.

Can this be washed in a commercial dishwashing machine?

I have washed it in a home dishwasher. I do not know if it is designed for the higher temperature water if a commercial dishwasher. I would contact the company for answers.

Is this made out of all plastic? I'm wondering about the durability of the plastic handle.

I’ve had mine about 6 months. I use it every 2 months or so and the plastic handle just broke. Great product except for this cheap handle that breaks easily.
