Very happy with the product
It's an expensive product compared to the Kindle Paper White. But it has more features,1. Much bigger screen (approx. 2 times larger than Kindle). That was the main reason. It has 8-inch screen which is comfortable for reading. 6 inch from Kindle wasn't enough for me. Even Oasis offers 7-inch, found it overpriced for using Mobi format only. Think 8-inch is good enough.2. Quality screen with the lighting automatic adjustment. The screen light quality is good and I don't care whether it's night or day - the light is adaptive. I just set the time when I go to bed and the light is warmer at that time.3. Physical buttons + touch screen. Prefer when my screen is clean and I could follow the text without touching the screen.4. Fast charging.5. The main feature for me: I could use multiple formats for my Ebooks, not just Kindle edition. Now, I have access to my public library through the OverDrive, I could simply drop my books to DropBox as well. Even .pdf documents are comfortable to read because of the 8-inch screen size.Cons: - Price. However, I'm happy with my investment and hope it will remain with me for the next 5-10 years.

Difficult on-off Button
Overall I love this ebook reader. The 8 inch screen is gorgeous and I think more like a paper book in size. There are plenty of settings that you can adjust to your taste and all settings are easy to find. There are no adverts like on a Kindle! There are plenty of fonts to choose from and you can even add your own fonts if you wish. The on-off button is the only thing I don't like. It has no spring to it and I have to hold it down for longer to switch on or off. Nevertheless, the power button does work and I will get used to it.

Despite its flaws, currently the best ebook reader available
There are many ebook readers on the market, mostly from Amazon and Kobo, and nearly all of them are perfectly satisfactory. Only the Kobo Forma distinguishes itself from the competition, by having an 8" screen (most competitors have 6"-7" screens) and physical page-turn buttons.Good points:- 8" screen- Real, physical page-turn buttons- Front light with adjustable colour- Water resistant- Rather peculiar body shape is actually comfortable to hold one-handed- Wide format support- Drag-and-drop file copy, needs no proprietary software- Amazing battery life (weeks, with modest use)- Glare-free screen is usable in any lighting- No stupid advertisements, unlike some competing products- Hugely configurable reading experience, including custom font support- Works with Calibre (recent versions)- Works with Linux- Can work fully off-line -- no privacy concerns- Supports OverDrive (public library integration), although I don't use it myselfBad points:- Side bezel collects fingerprint grease, which looks nasty- You have to sign in to Kobo to set it up (but you can use a throwaway email address, which you'll never need again)- No USB C port (but no e-book reader has one, so far as I can tell)- Power switch is small and fiddly to use; I prefer the large button on the back that other Kobos have- OEM cover is fabulously expensive, and there are few third-party alternativesAs I get older, and my eyesight gets less acute, being able to use a font a couple of points larger and still get the same amount of text on screen is a big deal. The physical buttons reduce the amount of time I waste cleaning greasy fingerprints off the screen, and make it possible to read entirely one-handed. I can't deny that the physical buttons necessitate a rather large, ungainly side bezel, which makes the whole unit a peculiar, square-ish shape. I note that the new Kindle Oasis has the same shape (but a smaller screen). Naturally, the larger screen makes for a larger, and somewhat heavier, overall unit; but the Forma only weighs nine grams more than the new Oasis, and has 30% more screen area.If I didn't need the larger screen and the buttons, the Aura H20 (which I also own) would probably be just as useful, and considerably cheaper.

superior alternative to Kindle oasis. Extremely thin and lightweight
Amazon delivery was 3 days earlier than expected which was a pleasant surprise. Very impressive Kindle paperwhite or Oasis alternative. IMO Kobo Forma is a superior choice to the Kindle oasis because of the larger screen and additional customisation options and features the Forma has. There is a great feature on the Forma which allows you to wirelessly transfer books from any device to the Forma via an upload to Dropbox. This allows books downloaded from anywhere to a phone for example to be uploaded to Dropbox, then the Kobo Forma sync's with Dropbox and your ebook is on the Kobo! Brilliant. And cutting out the Kindle store and kobo store if you wish. Alternatively you can manage your ebooks via calibre (free, full featured and highly recommend ebook manager). Seriously impressive ereader

Absolute Rubbish
Disgusted at its ability to consistently present the view upside down or sideways even though I selected the "landscape locked" option. If anyone knows how to set it to always appear the correct way up...........? At present only hitting it works ! Also goes into "Lock" mode to frequently where it completely seizes up ! Definitely not worth wasting money on.Stick to hard copy books or use a laptop.

Wonderful 8 inch reader
This is the best ereader i've ever had, and i currently own 6 of them including the Oasis 2. lightweight, great screen, great comfort light that you lightened up or down simply by sliding your finger up and down the screen.
