Perfect Coffee Table Topper/Discussion Starter
I just recently picked up Indescribable and I have been mesmerized by it since that point in time. There is a unique and enjoyable blend presented here by Louie Giglio and Matt Redman. While Giglio is a pastor and Redman a worship minister, beyond that they are both in awe of God and have the decency as humans to acknowledge that what science teaches us about the immensity and majesty of the universe is a true sign of the glory of God! The version of the book I am reviewing is the Illustrated Edition, and I'll explain why. There comes a point where we have to allow conversation to happen organically for our testimony to be fruitful. Indescribable (Illustrated Edition) is just the sort of book to allow conversation if it were shared by being on a coffee table in a common space for guests.People are drawn to images, and most of us find images of space uniquely intriguing, so this book is chalk full of interest inducing pictures. There are some amazing full page and two-page spreads of space that just leave your mind spiraling that such realities exist. Giglio and Redman pick up where the images leave off by providing detailed stories of what can be seen and other things that have been discovered with incredible data such as size, density, speed and sound of the heavenly bodies. These realities are astounding. With a simultaneous acknowledgement of God as the extravagant creator of all the book begins and sustains with a tenor of worship. Seamlessly they tie in Scripture passages and other literary references to the glory of God, even as found in the heavenly bodies, into the story.Much about this book is refreshing to me. I love seeing science and faith play nicely together. Hearing the testimonies of believers within the scientific community, from NASA astronauts to astronomers, is greatly enjoyable and adds a level of credibility that extends beyond Giglio and Redman's admissions of being science-geeks who get really excited about these things. While it is fantastic to hear a pastor talk about his love for how science can show how much more exists beyond the human imagination I must admit that to read a forward by former astronaut Joe Tanner sharing that on his space flight he gazed upon earth and thought, "Earth is beautiful beyond description. God must love us dearly to provide a planet so perfectly tuned for life..." reminds me that God's inspiration is meaningful on any journey. While the many facts can, at times, feel daunting there is little of that you can fault to Giglio and Redman, especially since they weren't the ones to name what is found in space. Most of us fail to be captivated by a name that combines letters and numbers. However, the descriptions are not excessive as they work to draw us into why such planets, stars and heavenly occurrences all point us back to God who doesn't just create, but creates beyond our knowledge and perception, for all we have learned points to the fact that much more is still beyond our knowing. My recommendation is that this book is worth owning, because the images and concepts have a captivating power to draw the reader back in time after time.

Worship Begins in Poetic Wonder
"If we will allow them, the beauty and vastness of the cosmos will lead us to higher ground in worship." ~ Matt RedmanThe planet earth is so small when compared to the immense universe. Telescopes give us glimpses of beauty people of the past could only imagine. Louie Giglio and Matt Redman see the universe as evidence that their is a God who is great and glorious. This poetically written book begins by talking about the "singing" stars (some sound like violins) that seem so close but are so far away. This inspires reverent awe. Louie Giglio and Matt Redman explain that the placement of the sun, earth and moon are perfect so as to create the right finely tuned recipe for survival. They show the pale blue dot picture of earth which was photographed from 4 billion miles away. Carl Sagan described it as a "mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam." Now that is humbling.I enjoyed the pictures of breathtaking nebulae and I felt this was a very uplifting book. Louie Giglio and Matt Redman's creative writing conveys wonder quite effectively. There are also interesting facts like how there are more stars than grains of sand on all the world's beaches. That is just amazing. The authors also discuss neutron stars, solar bursts, black holes, red giant stars and nebulae. If you read "Indescribable" you owe it to yourself to watch the videos by the same name at youtube. I felt that this really made reading the book a complete experience. Especially if you are reading this on an older Kindle and not the Kindle Fire. On the Fire the pictures must look amazing. Now if you watch the videos you can actually hear what a star sounds like. This book reminded me of when I used to live on a farm in Africa and how we used to stay up late at night gazing into the heavens. The message in this book is that God is greater than we could ever imagine. So read this book but also check out the videos.~The Rebecca Review

Great item and service.
This book met all my expectations. A definite keeper! It arrived on time and was protected very well. Was as described which isn’t always the case for a book that is not brand new!

We Serve an Indescribably Awesome God
“Indescribable” by Louie Giglio and Matt Redman is, in a word, indescribable. In this awe-inspiring work, these two men impart incredible facts about the vastness of our universe, and the concomitant awesomeness of the God who created it and us. Uncountable stars make up our galaxy. Uncountable galaxies make up our universe. It is beyond our human ability to comprehend a universe without borders, yet that is where we live. If it DID have borders, we couldn’t conceive of what might lay beyond the borders; either way, if you think too hard about it you will surely get a headache.Lavishly illustrated with numerous photographs of stellar beauty, if “Indescribable” doesn’t bring you to your knees before our God, nothing will. The Bible tells us he formed the stars with his breath. He hung them in space, and knows each of them by their names. As vast as all that is, he also knows US by name. Our insignificant little lives, on our little blue dot called Earth, circling our modest sized star Sol, lost within the vastness of our Milky Way galaxy, which in turn is lost amongst the uncountable billions and billions of galaxies in an infinite universe… yet He knows each of us by name, and His eye is always on us. Stop and think about that for a moment. This book will bless all who read it. It will humble you. It will put you in awe of our God. It will bring tears to your eyes. It will help you to grasp just how much God truly loves you. I wish I could afford to purchase thousands of copies of “Indescribable” to give away. Because I cannot afford to do that, I will instead urge everybody reading this review to get a copy. I pray it will open your heart, mind and soul to the great goodness of God, our Creator and the Creator of this magnificent universe.

Wonderful little treasure
I got a free copy of this ebook. I recognised Matt Redman's name and thought it sounded interesting. I do not have a 'science brain', or a maths one, but since moving to the countryside and having such a clear view of the stars I've often wanted to understand better and learn more. This book got the balance just right, pitching the science and physics so even I could get my head round it! The pictures were inspiring but not distracting, and all the facts and figures were presented in context of the God behind each number.I learned a lot of new things to thank God for and felt a whole new dimension to the term 'creator God' was presented. I'm still amazed at all the different shades of green in one field, or tones in one sunset. The whole of space is like wow...Highly recommend to anyone remotely interested in the night sky and what we can't see beyond the clouds.

If You can See
I had wanted to read this for a while because I'd heard people talk about Louie and the way he describes space. As a blind person, I'm very glad I got this book when it was free and didn't spend a lot of money on it. Perhaps it's more impactful if you can see the pictures. Without them, there are some interesting parts, but the message is a bit repetitive.

the 'silent' worship
Don't we all from time to time, stare at the night sky and wondering? let this book lead you to worship even if you are not particularly interested in astronomy. with lots of photos and articles, the authors really lead you to worship. For those who have seen the Indescribable video on Youtube, this is still a book worth reading as they expand on the worship themes. More importantly, it led me to worship! I read it on Kindle and the colour photos can be zoomed in which is fantastic. Highly recommend.

God is good.
lovely quick book to read with images so that we can be in awe of how big God really is. I would point out that on a kindle the images didn't work out well, if you do read the electronic version. Read it on a kindle app or on a colour screen. There are a few pictures of space and stars etc.
