Stanley 42-466 12-Inch High Impact ABS Level

There is not a lot to say about this product other than it works exactly as it is intended, it is high quality, and the price is unbeatable. I've used it many times and it is my go-to ruler and leveler. It is small enough to fit within most spaces but long enough that I actually can get a true level reading. The price is half of what they charge at the big box stores. Hard to find an addition to your tool arsenal of this quality for this price that you'll use this much. I couldn't be happier. We use this level to mount pictures and other lightweight tasks. I added adhesive backed foam (from Amazon) to the edges so that it wouldn't scratch the wall. Seems to work well enough---it's a bubble level, so physics is on your side. By eye, the pictures look level enough. It's plastic, so very lightweight to work with, which is nice in this application. I don't recommend it for long term use--not something you're going to hand down from generation to generation. I wouldn't also use it as my main, go-to level if you're into home improvement or heavy duty work. it's probably good for tasks where a level may get abused, such as outdoors laying brick, or dead-nuts accuracy is not a requirement. Buy it!

I purchased this level to help me make cakes. It was a nice feature that it had a ruler on the bottom.

Excellent very handy Level that can also serve as a 12 inch / 30 cm ruler & straight edge. Being a full 1" wide makes it very stable, much more so than the 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch wide levels that I own & rarely use. My first purchase of this product was 10+ years ago. Since then, it's been used often for laying concrete blocks (CMU), ceramic tile, during renovation & remodeling projects, for leveling appliances, shelving, etc. Smears of mortar & thin-set on the sight glasses, & ruler graduations, prompted me to replace my old level with two new ones. Most, Hdepot stores sell this Stanley Level for more, some don't carry it at all. The current picture of this level on Amazon is stretched & distorted. Image on Hdepot website is much more accurate. After buying two of these, was surprised to see a similar level in red at Lowe's for 2 bucks.

This is a cheap level, but it works. It's twelve inches long, which is exactly what my husband needed for mounting a picture frame that required two screws, one on either corner. He used this level to get the screws aligned properly---and it worked! My picture frame isn't crooked. There's a built-in ruler, plus the little tubes filled with florescent green liquid and air bubbles. It's an age-old design, very simple, yet effective. If you're needing something elaborate, like a laser level, this won't help you much. But for simple jobs around the house, there's nothing wrong with it. The plastic might not hold up to industrial use, so I don't think I'd recommend it to professional carpenters. But if you just need something cheap and simple to use at home, this will do the job. Four stars and recommended to anyone who wants to hang a picture frame that isn't crooked.

Lost the old Stanley 12" level that I'd had for years. Can't seem to find a 12" level locally, and this one shipped fast and at a great price. If you want a 12" level that's not a torpedo, this one's great.

Great level! ABS surface is smooth and does not mar shelving, cabinets, trim or furniture. The built-in ruler is easy to read with bold black markers/text in both metric and imperial measurements. The bubble gauges work just as you'd expect. The only downside I can think of is that because the ruler is printed on one of the surfaces of the level, you may find that the markers and text wear off after lots of use or abuse. It's a minor issue because who wouldn't have a tape measure around anyways. I think this level will last me a long time.

I'm loving this little level. I've been putting up a bunch of shelves in my shop and this thing has turned out to be very handy. Yes it's made of plastic but what isn't these days. Still works great.
